希西家在全猶大都這樣辦理，在耶和華－他上帝面前行良善、正直、忠誠的事。凡他所行的，無論是開始辦上帝殿的事，是遵律法守誡命，是尋求他的上帝，他都盡心去做，無不亨通。

所羅門的兒子羅波安作猶大王。他登基的時候年四十一歲，在耶路撒冷，就是耶和華從以色列眾支派中所選擇立他名的城，作王十七年。羅波安的母親名叫拿瑪，是亞捫人。猶大人行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，以所犯的罪惹動他的妒忌，比他們的祖先所犯的一切更嚴重。

因為他們離棄我，敬拜西頓人的女神亞斯她錄、摩押的神明基抹和亞捫人的神明米勒公，沒有像他父親大衛一樣遵從我的道，行我眼中看為正的事，守我的律例典章。

亞瑪謝行耶和華眼中看為正的事，只是沒有純正的心。
