Asa then took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple and of his own palace. He entrusted it to his officials and sent them to Ben-Hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, the king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus.

Asa took all the silver and gold left among the treasures of the Lord’ s temple and his own palace. He put his officials in charge of it. He sent the officials to Ben- Hadad. Ben- Hadad was king of Aram. He was ruling in Damascus. He was the son of Tabrimmon and the grandson of Hezion.

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house and gave them into the hands of his servants. And King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived in Damascus, saying,

Asa responded by removing all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the Temple of the Lord and the royal palace. He sent it with some of his officials to Ben hadad son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion, the king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus, along with this message:

So Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the treasuries of the LORD’s temple and the treasuries of the royal palace and gave it to his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad son of Tabrimmon son of Hezion king of Aram who lived in Damascus, saying,

So Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple and the treasuries of the royal palace and put it into the hands of his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad son of Tabrimmon son of Hezion king of Aram who lived in Damascus, saying,

Then King Asa sent them to Ben Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,

猶大王約阿施將他祖先猶大王約沙法、約蘭、亞哈謝所分別為聖的物和自己所分別為聖的物，以及耶和華殿與王宮府庫裏所有的金子都送給亞蘭王哈薛；哈薛就不上耶路撒冷來了。

上帝又使以利亞大的兒子利遜興起，作所羅門的敵人。他曾逃避主人瑣巴王哈大底謝。大衛擊殺瑣巴人的時候，利遜召集了一羣人，自己作他們的領袖。他們往大馬士革，住在那裏，在大馬士革建立王國。

亞撒將他父親所分別為聖與自己所分別為聖的金銀和器皿都奉到耶和華的殿裏。

在夜間，他和他的僕人分隊擊敗了敵人，並且追殺他們，直到大馬士革北邊的何把。

亞蘭王便‧哈達召集他的全軍，率領三十二個王，帶着馬和戰車，上來圍困撒瑪利亞，要攻打它。他派使者進城到以色列王亞哈那裏，對他說：「便‧哈达如此說：『你的金銀都要歸我，你妻妾兒女中最美的也要歸我。』」以色列王回答說：「我主我王啊，就照着你的話，我和我所有的都歸你。」使者又來說：「便‧哈達如此說：『我已派人到你那裏，要你把你的金銀、妻妾、兒女都歸我。』

這些人正在探測吉凶，就立即抓住他的話說：「便‧哈達是王的兄弟！」王說：「你們去請他來。」便‧哈達出來到王那裏，王就請他上車。便‧哈達對王說：「我父從你父那裏所奪的城鎮，我必歸還給你。你可以在大馬士革為你自己設立街市，像我父在撒瑪利亞所設立的一樣。」亞哈說：「我照此立約，放你回去。」王就與他立約，放了他。

我要降火在哈薛的王宮，吞滅便‧哈達的宮殿；

於是亞撒從耶和華殿和王宮的府庫裏拿出金銀來，送給住在大馬士革的亞蘭王便‧哈達，說：「你父曾與我父立約，我與你也要這樣立約。看哪，我把金銀送給你，請你廢掉你與以色列王巴沙所立的約，使他從我這裏撤退。」便‧哈達聽從了亞撒王，就派遣他的軍官去攻打以色列的城鎮。他們攻下了以雲、但、亞伯‧瑪音和拿弗他利一切的儲貨城。巴沙聽見了，就停工不修築拉瑪，任由他的工程停止。於是亞撒王率領猶大眾人，運走巴沙修築拉瑪所用的石頭和木料，用以修築迦巴和米斯巴。

我必用火點燃大馬士革的城牆，燒滅便‧哈達的宮殿。

以利沙來到大馬士革，亞蘭王便‧哈達正患病。有人告訴王說：「神人來到這裏了。」王就吩咐哈薛說：「你帶着禮物去見神人，託他求問耶和華，我這病能不能好？」於是哈薛用四十匹駱駝，馱着大馬士革的各樣美物為禮物，去迎見以利沙。哈薛到了那裏，站在他面前，說：「你兒子亞蘭王便‧哈達派我到你這裏，問說：『我這病會不會好？』」以利沙對哈薛說：「你回去告訴他說：『你一定會好。』但耶和華指示我，他必定會死。」神人定睛看着哈薛，直到他感到羞愧。神人就哭了。哈薛說：「我主為甚麼哭？」他說：「因為我知道你必虐待以色列人，用火焚燒他們的堡壘，用刀殺死他們的壯丁，摔死他們的嬰孩，剖開他們的孕婦。」哈薛說：「僕人算甚麼，不過是一條狗，怎麼能行這大事呢？」以利沙說：「耶和華指示我，你必作亞蘭王。」哈薛離開以利沙，回到他主人那裏。主人對他說：「以利沙對你說了甚麼？」他說：「他告訴我你必能好。」次日，哈薛拿被子浸在水中，蒙住王的臉，王就死了。於是哈薛篡了他的位。

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，我還沒有兒子，你能賜我甚麼呢？承受我家業的是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

希西家把耶和華殿裏和王宮府庫裏所有的銀子都給了他。那時，猶大王希西家將耶和華殿門上的金子和他自己包在柱子上的金子都刮下來，給了亞述王。
