所羅門王用鎚好的金子作了大盾牌二百面；每一面大盾牌用了六百錠鎚好的金子。他又用鎚好的金子作了盾牌三百面；每一面盾牌用了三百錠金子；王把這些盾牌都放在利巴嫩森林宮裏。

我恨惡我一切的勞碌、就是我在日光之下所勞碌的，因為我得來的必須留給我以後的人。那人會有智慧或是愚昧，誰能知道呢？他竟要掌管我勞碌所得的一切，就是我在日光之下用智慧所勞碌得來的：這也是虛空。

於是埃及王示撒上來攻打耶路撒冷；他奪取了永恆主之殿的寶物、和王宮的寶物：所有的他盡都奪取：又把所羅門所造的金盾牌也奪了去。羅波安王造了銅的盾牌去代替那些金盾牌，交付在看守王宮門的衛兵長手裏。王每逢進了永恆主之殿，衛兵總拿起這些盾牌來，隨後又送回到守衛室裏。

所羅門王用鎚好的金子作了大盾牌二百面；每一面大盾牌用了六百錠金子。他又用鎚好的金子作了盾牌三百面；每一面盾牌用了金子三彌拿；王把這些盾牌都放在利巴嫩森林宮裏。

人走來走去、簡直是影兒；悲哀歎息不過是虛幻；他積聚着財寶，不知誰來收取。

你的眼不是剛飛及錢財，而錢財就沒有了麼？因為錢財是會長翅膀，如鷹向天上飛去的。

巴比倫王將永恆主之殿的一切寶物和王宮的寶物都從那裏取出來，又把以色列王所羅門在永恆主殿堂所造的一切金器都砍壞了，正如永恆主所說過的。

我儘一次地指着自己的至聖來起誓：我決不向大衛說謊。他的後裔必存到永遠，他的王位在我面前必如日之恆，如月亮之永遠堅立，如天空之長久確定。』（細拉）但如今你、你卻屏棄而拒絕他；你震怒你所膏立的。你斥棄了與你僕人所立的約，將他的冠冕污辱於地。你拆壞了他所有的圍牆，使他的堡壘變為廢墟。凡過路的人都搶掠他；他成了鄰國所羞辱的。你高舉了他敵人的右手；使他一切仇敵高興。唉，你使他的刀劍捲刃，使他在戰場上站立不住。你折斷了他威嚴的王杖，將他的寶座拋擲於地。你截短了他青年的日子，使他披上羞愧。（細拉）

這樣、所羅門王所作永恆主之殿的一切工就作完了。所羅門把他父親大衛分別為聖的東西、銀子金子和器皿、都帶了來，交在永恆主之殿的府庫中。
