於是亞撒把耶和華殿和王宮的府庫裡所剩下的金銀，都交在他臣僕的手中。亞撒王差派他們到大馬士革的亞蘭王，希旬的孫子、他伯利們的兒子便．哈達那裡去，說：

所羅門王用錘煉好的金子做了二百面大盾牌，每一面大盾牌用錘煉好的金子七公斤。又用錘煉好的金子做了三百面小盾牌，每一面小盾牌用錘煉好的金子約三公斤；王把這些盾牌都放在黎巴嫩林宮。

我恨惡我的一切勞碌，就是我在日光之下的勞碌，因為我不得不把勞碌的成果留給後人。那人將來是智是愚，有誰曉得呢？可是他竟要掌管一切我勞碌得來的，就是我在日光之下用智慧得來的。這又是虛空。

於是埃及王示撒上來攻打耶路撒冷，奪取了耶和華殿和王宮裡的寶物，把它們全部帶走，又奪去了所羅門所做的金盾牌。羅波安王做了一些銅盾牌代替那些金盾牌，交給那些看守宮門的守衛長看管。每逢王進耶和華殿的時候，守衛就來拿這些盾牌，事後又把盾牌送回守衛房那裡。

所羅門王用錘煉好的金子做了二百面大盾牌，每一面大盾牌用金子七公斤；又用錘煉好的金子做了三百面小盾牌，每一面小盾牌用金子兩公斤。王把這些盾牌都放在黎巴嫩林宮。

世人來來往往只是幻影，他們忙亂也是虛空；積聚財物，卻不知道誰要來收取。

你的眼睛注視在錢財上，錢財卻不見了，因為錢財必長起翅膀，如鷹飛往天上。

他又從耶路撒冷把耶和華殿一切寶物和王宮的寶物取去，並且把以色列王所羅門在耶和華殿所做的一切金器都搗毀，就像耶和華所說的。

我斷然指著自己的聖潔起誓，說：‘我決不向大衛說謊。他的後裔必存到永遠，他的王位在我面前必像太陽長存，又像月亮永遠堅立，作天上確實的見證。’”（細拉）你卻惱怒你的受膏者，丟掉棄絕他。你捨棄了和你僕人所立的約，把他的冠冕玷污在地。你拆毀了他的一切城牆，使他的堡壘成廢堆。過路的都搶掠他，他成了鄰國的人羞辱的對象。你高舉了他敵人的右手，使他所有的仇敵歡喜。你使他的刀劍捲刃，使他在戰場上站立不住。你使他的光輝消失，把他的王位推翻（“推翻”原文作“推倒在地”）。你減少了他青春的日子，使他披上恥辱。（細拉）

這樣，所羅門為耶和華的殿所作的一切工程都完成了。所羅門把他父親大衛分別為聖的金銀和器皿，都運了來，存放在耶和華殿的庫房裡。
