“ King Manasseh of Judah has committed horrible sins. He has sinned more than the Amorites before him and has encouraged Judah to sin by worshiping his disgusting idols.

So the LORD has uprooted them from their land in anger, wrath, and great rage and has deported them to another land, as is clear today.”

The Israelites again did evil in the LORD’s sight. The LORD gave King Eglon of Moab control over Israel because they had done evil in the LORD’s sight.

He did evil because he was not determined to follow the LORD.

Have you not copied their behavior and practiced their abominable deeds? In a short time you became even more depraved in all your conduct than they were!As surely as I live, declares the sovereign LORD, your sister Sodom and her daughters never behaved as wickedly as you and your daughters have behaved.

Judah also failed to keep the commandments of the LORD their God; they followed Israel’s example.
