王對神人說：「請你同我回去吃飯，加添心力，我也必給你賞賜。」

乃縵帶着一切跟隨他的人，回到神人那裏，站在他面前，說：「如今我知道，除了以色列之外，普天下沒有神。現在求你收點僕人的禮物。」

掃羅對僕人說：「我們若去，有甚麼可以送那人呢？我們囊中的食物都吃盡了，也沒有禮物可以送那神人，我們還有甚麼沒有？」僕人回答掃羅說：「我手裏有銀子一舍客勒的四分之一，可以送那神人，請他指示我們當走的路。」（

於是領他們到家裏，餵上驢，他們就洗腳吃喝。

西門看見使徒按手，便有聖靈賜下，就拿錢給使徒，說：「把這權柄也給我，叫我手按着誰，誰就可以受聖靈。」彼得說：「你的銀子和你一同滅亡吧！因你想神的恩賜是可以用錢買的。

我再拿一點餅來，你們可以加添心力，然後往前去。你們既到僕人這裏來，理當如此。」他們說：「就照你說的行吧。」

瑪挪亞對耶和華的使者說：「求你容我們款留你，好為你預備一隻山羊羔。」

甚願你們中間有一人關上殿門，免得你們徒然在我壇上燒火。萬軍之耶和華說：我不喜悅你們，也不從你們手中收納供物。

耶利米還沒有回去，護衛長說：「你可以回到沙番的孫子亞希甘的兒子基大利那裏去；現在巴比倫王立他作猶大城邑的省長。你可以在他那裏住在民中，不然，你看哪裏合宜就可以上那裏去。」於是護衛長送他糧食和禮物，釋放他去了。

務要牧養在你們中間神的羣羊，按着神旨意照管他們；不是出於勉強，乃是出於甘心；也不是因為貪財，乃是出於樂意；
