乃縵和他的隨員又回到神人那裡，他進去，站在他面前，說：“看哪！現在我知道除了在以色列以外，全地都沒有神。現在，請你收下你僕人一點禮物吧。”

掃羅對僕人說：“如果我們去，有甚麼可以送給那人呢？因為我們袋裡的食物都已經用盡了，也沒有禮物可以送給那神人，我們還有甚麼呢？”僕人回答掃羅：“看哪！我手裡有三克銀子，可以送給那神人，請他告訴我們應該走的路。”

於是把他領到自己的家裡，用飼料餵了驢，他們洗了腳，就吃喝起來。

西門看見使徒一按手，就有聖靈賜下來，就拿錢給他們，說：“請把這權柄也給我，叫我為誰按手，誰就可以受聖靈。”彼得對他說：“你的銀子跟你一同滅亡吧！因為你以為神的恩賜，是可以用錢買的。

讓我拿點餅來給你們吃，使你們可以恢復精力，然後再走，因為你們既然到了僕人這裡來，就應該這樣。”他們說：“就照著你所說的去作。”

瑪挪亞對耶和華的使者說：“請留下，好讓我為你預備一隻山羊羔。”

“真願你們當中有人把殿門關上，免得你們在我的壇上徒然點火。”萬軍之耶和華說：“我不喜歡你們，也不從你們手中收納禮物。”

耶利米還沒有回去，護衛長又說：“你可以回到沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利那裡去！基大利是巴比倫王指派管理猶大各城的。你可以和他一起住在人民中間；或是你認為去哪裡合宜，就到哪裡去吧！”於是護衛長給他糧食和禮物，就釋放他走了。

務要牧養在你們中間的神的羊群，按著神的旨意看顧他們。不是出於勉強，而是出於甘心；不是因為貪財，而是出於熱誠；
