For the message he declared by the word of the Lord against the altar in Bethel and against all the shrines on the high places in the towns of Samaria will certainly come true.”

I want you to do that because he announced a message from the Lord. He spoke against the altar in Bethel. He also spoke against all the temples that are on the high places. They are in the towns of Samaria. What the man of God said will certainly come true.”

And he purchased the hill Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and named the city which he built Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.

And he cried out against the altar by the word of the Lord and said,“ Altar, altar, this is what the Lord says:‘ Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by name; and on you he shall sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and human bones shall burn on you.’ ”

I then will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and pile your remains on the remains of your idols, for My soul will loathe you.

And he made houses on high places, and appointed priests from all the people who were not of the sons of Levi.

Now when Josiah turned, he saw the graves that were there on the mountain, and he sent men and took the bones from the graves, and burned them on the altar and defiled it in accordance with the word of the Lord which the man of God proclaimed, the one who proclaimed these things.Then he said,“ What is this gravestone there that I see?” And the men of the city told him,“ It is the grave of the man of God who came from Judah and proclaimed these things which you have done against the altar of Bethel.”And he said,“ Leave him alone; no one is to disturb his bones.” So they left his bones undisturbed with the bones of the prophet who came from Samaria.Then Josiah also removed all the houses of the high places which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had constructed, provoking the Lord to anger; and he did to them just as he had done in Bethel.

But the troops whom Amaziah sent back, those not going with him to battle, raided the cities of Judah from Samaria to Beth horon, and struck and killed three thousand of them, and plundered a large amount of spoils.

And he set up one in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan.

and the rest of the nations which the great and honorable Osnappar deported and settled in the city of Samaria, and in the rest of the region beyond the Euphrates River. And now
