他就對那從猶大來的神人喊着說：『永恆主這麼說：「你既違背了永恆主所吩咐的，不遵守永恆主你的上帝所囑咐你的命令，

遂向自猶大來之上帝僕呼曰、耶和華云、因爾違耶和華之言、不守爾上帝耶和華所命、

告自猶大而至上帝之僕、曰、耶和華云、因爾違命、不守爾上帝耶和華誡、

謂自猶大來之神人曰、主如是云、因爾違背主言、不守主爾天主所諭爾之誡、

He cried out to the man of God who had come from Judah,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ You have defied the word of the Lord and have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you.

He cried out to the man who had come from Judah. He told him,“ The Lord says,‘ You have not done what I told you to do. You have not obeyed the command I gave you. I am the Lord your God.

你为什么没有听从耶和华的话，而冲向战利品，做耶和华眼中看为恶的事呢？”

撒母耳说：“耶和华喜悦燔祭和祭物，难道与喜悦人听从耶和华的话等同吗？看哪，听从胜过献祭，听命胜过公绵羊的脂油；要知道，悖逆如同占卜的罪，顽梗就像拜偶像的恶。你既然厌弃耶和华的话，耶和华也厌弃你作王。”扫罗对撒母耳说：“我犯罪了！我确实违背了耶和华的吩咐和你的话语。因为我怕军兵，就听了他们的话。

于是他们两人的眼睛开了，知道自己是赤身的，就把无花果树的叶子缝合起来，为自己做了腰上的遮盖。
