他们二人正在席上吃喝的时候，耶和华的话临到那把神人带回来的先知，他就对那从犹大来的神人喊叫，说：“耶和华这样说：‘你既然违背了耶和华的命令，没有谨守耶和华你的神吩咐你的诫命，

所有以前认识扫罗的人，看见他和他们一起受感说话，就彼此说：“基士的儿子怎么啦！扫罗也列在先知中间吗？”

粉刷那墙的人，就是以色列的众先知；他们指着耶路撒冷说预言，在没有平安的时候，为这城见平安的异象。这是主耶和华的宣告。

神迎见巴兰；巴兰对神说：“我已经预备了七座祭坛，在各座祭坛上献了一头公牛和一只公绵羊。”耶和华把话传给巴兰，又说：“你要回到巴勒那里去，要这样这样说。”

（人若不知道怎样管理自己的家，怎能照料神的教会呢？）

到那日，必有许多人对我说：‘主啊，主啊！难道我们没有奉你的名讲道，奉你的名赶鬼，奉你的名行过许多神迹吗？’

“人子啊！你要说预言攻击那些在以色列中说预言的先知，对那些随着自己心意说预言的人说：‘你们要听耶和华的话。’”

巴兰举目，看见以色列人按着支派居住，神的灵就临到他身上。

他曾经因着自己的过犯受了责备：不能说话的驴，竟用人的声音说出话来，制止了这先知的狂妄。

有人从那里经过，看见尸体被丢在路上，狮子站在尸体旁边，就来到老先知所住的城里，述说这事。
