He instituted a festival on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, like the festival held in Judah, and offered sacrifices on the altar. This he did in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves he had made. And at Bethel he also installed priests at the high places he had made.

He established a feast. It was on the 15th day of the eighth month. He wanted to make it like the Feast of Booths that was held in Judah. Jeroboam built an altar at Bethel. He offered sacrifices on it. He sacrificed to the calves he had made. He also put priests in Bethel. He did it at the high places he had made.

And Jeroboam appointed a feast on the fifteenth day of the eighth month like the feast that was in Judah, and he offered sacrifices on the altar. So he did in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves that he made. And he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places that he had made.

And Jeroboam instituted a religious festival in Bethel, held on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, in imitation of the annual Festival of Shelters in Judah. There at Bethel he himself offered sacrifices to the calves he had made, and he appointed priests for the pagan shrines he had made.

於是以色列眾人、在以他念月、節期中、就是七月、都聚集到所羅門王那裏。

永恆主告訴摩西說：『你要告訴以色列人說；七月十五日是住棚節，要給永恆主守這節七天。頭一天要有聖聚會；甚麼勞碌的工都不可作。七天之內要將火祭獻與永恆主；第八天要有聖聚會，要將火祭獻與永恆主；這是聖節會；甚麼勞碌的工都不可作。『以上這些是永恆主的制定節期、就是你們要宣告為聖聚會，要將火祭獻與永恆主的；還有燔祭、素祭、宰獻祭、奠祭、各歸各日；此外還有永恆主的安息日，還有你們的禮物，還有你們所還的一切還願物，還有你們所自願獻的一切、就是你們所獻與永恆主的。『又在七月十五日，你們收藏了地的出產後，要守永恆主的節七天；頭一天要完全歇息，第八天也要完全歇息。頭一天你們要拿美麗之樹的果子、和棕樹枝、茂密樹的枝條跟谿谷間的楊柳條，在永恆主你們的上帝面前歡樂七天。每年七月間、你們要向永恆主守為節期七天：這要做你們世世代代永遠的條例；在七月間你們要守這節。你們要住在樹枝棚子裏七天；凡在以色列中的本地人都要住在樹枝棚子裏，好叫你們世世代代知道我領以色列人出埃及地的時候、曾使他們住在樹枝棚子裏；我永恆主你們的上帝。』於是摩西將永恆主制定節期的條例告訴以色列人。

雖則他們也曾安置了他們的門檻靠近我的門檻，豎立了他們的門框挨着我的門框，以致他們跟我之間不過一牆之隔；雖則他們也行了可厭惡的事、來玷污我的聖名，以致我氣忿忿地消滅他們。

「這人民用嘴脣尊敬我，心卻遠離我；他們徒然敬拜我，將人的誡律當教條教訓人。」』
