After seeking advice, the king made two golden calves. He said to the people,“ It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

So King Jeroboam asked for advice. Then he made two golden statues that looked like calves. He said to the people,“ It’s too hard for you to go up to Jerusalem. Israel, here are your gods who brought you up out of Egypt.”

So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people,“ You have gone up to Jerusalem long enough. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”

So on the advice of his counselors, the king made two gold calves. He said to the people,“ It is too much trouble for you to worship in Jerusalem. Look, Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of Egypt!”

So the king sought advice. Then he made two golden calves, and he said to the people,“ Going to Jerusalem is too difficult for you. Israel, here are your gods who brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

So the king consulted, and he made two golden calves; and he said to the people,“ It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem; behold your gods, Israel, that brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

Therefore the king asked advice, made two calves of gold, and said to the people,“ It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt!”

Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold; and he said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

只是耶户不离开尼八的儿子耶罗波安使以色列人陷入罪里的那罪，就是拜伯特利和但的金牛犊。

他们立君王，并非出于我；立官长，我却不知道。他们用金银为自己制造偶像，以致被剪除。撒玛利亚啊，耶和华已抛弃你的牛犊；我的怒气向拜牛犊的人发作。他们要到几时方能无罪呢？因这牛犊是出于以色列，是匠人所造的，并不是上帝。撒玛利亚的牛犊必被打碎。他们所栽种的是风，所收割的是暴风；禾稼不长穗，无以制成面粉；即便制成，外邦人也必吞吃它。

耶罗波安为丘坛，为山羊鬼魔，为自己所造的牛犊设立祭司。

那时，耶和华吩咐我将律例典章教导你们，使你们在所要过去得为业的地上遵行。”“所以，你们为自己的缘故要分外谨慎；因为耶和华在何烈山，从火中对你们说话的那日，你们没有看见任何形像。惟恐你们的行为败坏，为自己雕刻任何形状的偶像，无论是男像或女像，或地上任何走兽的像，或任何飞在空中有翅膀的鸟的像，或地上任何爬行动物的像，或地底下任何水中鱼的像。

撒玛利亚的居民必因伯‧亚文的牛犊惊恐；它的百姓为它悲哀，它的祭司为它战兢，因为荣耀已经离开它。人必将牛犊带到亚述，当作礼物献给大王。以法莲必蒙羞，以色列必因自己的计谋惭愧。

他们对先见说：“不要再看了”；对先知说：“不要向我们预言正直的事；要对我们说好听的话，预言虚幻的事。

王不采纳长者给他出的主意，却和那些与他一同长大、在他面前侍立的年轻人商议。他对他们说：“这百姓对我说：‘你父亲使我们负重轭，求你减轻一些。’你们出个什么主意，我们好把话带回给他们。”

来吧，让我们机巧地待他们，恐怕他们增多起来，将来若有战争，他们就联合我们的仇敌来攻击我们，然后离开这地去了。”

耶和华说：“祸哉！这悖逆的儿女。他们同谋，却不出于我，结盟，却不出于我的灵，以致罪上加罪。

他们应许人自由，自己却作了腐败的奴隶，因为人被谁制伏就是谁的奴隶。

“不可为自己雕刻偶像，也不可做什么形像，仿佛上天、下地和地底下水中的百物。
