After seeking advice, the king made two golden calves. He said to the people,“ It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

So King Jeroboam asked for advice. Then he made two golden statues that looked like calves. He said to the people,“ It’s too hard for you to go up to Jerusalem. Israel, here are your gods who brought you up out of Egypt.”

So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people,“ You have gone up to Jerusalem long enough. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”

So on the advice of his counselors, the king made two gold calves. He said to the people,“ It is too much trouble for you to worship in Jerusalem. Look, Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of Egypt!”

So the king sought advice. Then he made two golden calves, and he said to the people,“ Going to Jerusalem is too difficult for you. Israel, here are your gods who brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

So the king consulted, and he made two golden calves; and he said to the people,“ It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem; behold your gods, Israel, that brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

Therefore the king asked advice, made two calves of gold, and said to the people,“ It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt!”

Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold; and he said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

亞倫從他們手裏接過來，用雕刻的器具雕造它，作成一隻鑄像的牛犢；他們就說：『以色列啊，這就是你們的神、那領你們從埃及地上來的！』

他們很快地就偏離了我所吩咐他們走的道路，而為自己造了一隻鑄像的牛犢，去敬拜它，向它獻祭說：『以色列啊，這就是你們的神、那領你們從埃及地上來的！」』

他們撇棄了永恆主他們的上帝一切的誡命，竟為自己造了兩個牛犢的鑄像，又造了亞舍拉神木，去敬拜天上的萬象，又事奉巴力。

只是尼八的兒子耶羅波安的罪、耶羅波安使以色列人所犯的、那拜伯特利和但的金牛犢、的罪、耶戶卻仍舊跟從，總不離開。

他們立了王，但不是由我立的；他們立了首領，卻不是我承認的。他們用他們的銀子或金子、為自己造了偶像，好讓自己被剪除。撒瑪利亞啊，我屏棄了你的牛犢；我向撒瑪利亞人發怒。以色列人到幾時才能無辜免罰呢？那牛犢像是匠人造的，並不是神。撒瑪利亞的牛犢像必定成了碎片。因為他們種的是風，收成的必是暴風；發生的苗成不了禾稼，也磨不出麵粉；即使磨得出，外族人也必吞喫。

耶羅波安卻為邱壇、為野山羊神、為自己所造的牛犢設立了祭司。

對我呢、永恆主那時也吩咐我將律例典章教訓你們，使你們在所要過去取得為業的地上去遵行。『所以為了你們自己的緣故、你們要格外謹慎，因為永恆主在何烈山從火中對你們說話的那一天、你們是沒有看見甚麼形像的；那是恐怕你們敗壞自己，為自己造雕像、造任何雕塑物的形像、男的或女的模形、造任何地上的獸類的模形、任何飛在空中有翅膀的鳥兒的模形、任何在地上爬行的動物的模形、任何在地底下水中的魚的模形。

撒瑪利亞的居民必因伯亞文的牛犢而恐懼戰兢；拜牛犢的人民必為牛犢而悲哀；其拜偶像的祭司必為牛犢而哀悼；他們必為它的光耀而「快樂！」因為那光耀已流亡去了。連那東西也必被帶到亞述去，做貢物獻給那大王。以法蓮必得到羞慚，以色列必因他的偶像而慚愧。

他們對先見們說：『不要見異象哦』；對見異象的人說：『不要向我們傳講對的異象哦；只要向我們說圓滑的話，傳講虛幻的異象好啦；

王卻棄絕了老年人給他出的主意，反而和那些跟他一齊長大、侍立在他面前的少年人商議，問他們說：『這眾民對我說：「你使你父親所加在我們身上的軛輕鬆些吧」；你們給我出個甚麼主意，我好有話回答他們呢？』

來吧，我們要用巧計來對付他們，恐怕他們增多起來；若遇着戰事，他們就跟恨我們的仇敵聯合、來攻打我們，離開這地而上去。』

永恆主發神諭說：『有禍啊，這些悖逆的兒女！設下計謀，卻不由於我！奠酒結盟，卻不由於我的靈，以致罪上加罪！

應許他們自由，而自己卻是敗壞之奴僕。因為人被甚麼制勝，就給甚麼做奴僕。

『不可為你自己造雕像，也不可造上天、下地、及地底下水中任何物件的形像。
