After seeking advice, the king made two golden calves. He said to the people,“ It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

So King Jeroboam asked for advice. Then he made two golden statues that looked like calves. He said to the people,“ It’s too hard for you to go up to Jerusalem. Israel, here are your gods who brought you up out of Egypt.”

So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people,“ You have gone up to Jerusalem long enough. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”

So on the advice of his counselors, the king made two gold calves. He said to the people,“ It is too much trouble for you to worship in Jerusalem. Look, Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of Egypt!”

So the king sought advice. Then he made two golden calves, and he said to the people,“ Going to Jerusalem is too difficult for you. Israel, here are your gods who brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

So the king consulted, and he made two golden calves; and he said to the people,“ It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem; behold your gods, Israel, that brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

Therefore the king asked advice, made two calves of gold, and said to the people,“ It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt!”

只是耶户不离开尼八的儿子耶罗波安使以色列人陷在罪里的那罪，就是拜伯特利和但的金牛犊。

他们立君王，却不由我；他们立首领，我却不认。他们用金银为自己制造偶像，以致被剪除。撒玛利亚啊，耶和华已经丢弃你的牛犊；我的怒气向拜牛犊的人发作。他们到几时方能无罪呢？这牛犊出于以色列，是匠人所造的，并不是神。撒玛利亚的牛犊必被打碎。他们所种的是风，所收的是暴风；所种的不成禾稼，就是发苗也不结实；即便结实，外邦人必吞吃。

耶罗波安为邱坛、为鬼魔、为自己所铸造的牛犊设立祭司。

那时耶和华又吩咐我将律例典章教训你们，使你们在所要过去得为业的地上遵行。”“所以，你们要分外谨慎；因为耶和华在何烈山、从火中对你们说话的那日，你们没有看见什么形像。惟恐你们败坏自己，雕刻偶像，仿佛什么男像女像，或地上走兽的像，或空中飞鸟的像，或地上爬物的像，或地底下水中鱼的像。

撒玛利亚的居民必因伯亚文的牛犊惊恐；崇拜牛犊的民和喜爱牛犊的祭司都必因荣耀离开它，为它悲哀。人必将牛犊带到亚述当作礼物，献给耶雷布王。以法莲必蒙羞；以色列必因自己的计谋惭愧。

他们对先见说：“不要望见不吉利的事”，对先知说：“不要向我们讲正直的话；要向我们说柔和的话，言虚幻的事。

王却不用老年人给他出的主意，就和那些与他一同长大、在他面前侍立的少年人商议，说：“这民对我说：‘你父亲使我们负重轭，求你使我们轻松些。’你们给我出个什么主意，我好回复他们。”

来吧，我们不如用巧计待他们，恐怕他们多起来，日后若遇什么争战的事，就连合我们的仇敌攻击我们，离开这地去了。”

耶和华说：“祸哉！这悖逆的儿女。他们同谋，却不由于我，结盟，却不由于我的灵，以致罪上加罪；

他们应许人得以自由，自己却作败坏的奴仆，因为人被谁制伏就是谁的奴仆。

“不可为自己雕刻偶像，也不可做什么形像仿佛上天、下地，和地底下、水中的百物。
