‘ This is what the Lord says: Do not go up to fight against your brothers, the Israelites. Go home, every one of you, for this is my doing.’” So they obeyed the word of the Lord and went home again, as the Lord had ordered.

‘ The Lord says,“ Do not go up to fight against the Israelites. They are your relatives. I want every one of you to go back home. Things have happened exactly the way I planned them.” ’ ” So the fighting men obeyed the Lord’ s message. They went home again, just as he had ordered.

‘ Thus says the Lord, You shall not go up or fight against your relatives the people of Israel. Every man return to his home, for this thing is from me.’” So they listened to the word of the Lord and went home again, according to the word of the Lord.

‘ This is what the Lord says: Do not fight against your relatives, the Israelites. Go back home, for what has happened is my doing!’” So they obeyed the message of the Lord and went home, as the Lord had commanded.

‘ This is what the LORD says: You are not to march up and fight against your brothers, the Israelites. Each of you return home, for this situation is from me.’” So they listened to the word of the LORD and went back according to the word of the LORD.

‘ This is what the Lord says:“ You shall not go up nor fight against your relatives the sons of Israel; return, every man to his house, for this thing has come from Me.” ’ ” So they listened to the word of the Lord, and returned to go their way in accordance with the word of the Lord.

‘ Thus says the Lord:“ You shall not go up nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel. Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me.”’” Therefore they obeyed the word of the Lord, and turned back, according to the word of the Lord.

Thus saith Jehovah, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is of me. So they hearkened unto the word of Jehovah, and returned and went their way, according to the word of Jehovah.

‘ This is what the Lord says: You are not to march up and fight against your brothers, the Israelites. Each of you must return home, for I have done this.’” So they listened to what the Lord said and went back as He had told them.

Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.

‘ The LORD says this:“ Do not attack and make war with your brothers, the Israelites. Each of you go home, for I have caused this to happen.”’” They obeyed the LORD and went home as the LORD had ordered them to do.

‘ Yahweh says,“ You shall not go up or fight against your brothers, the children of Israel. Everyone return to his house; for this thing is from me.”’” So they listened to Yahweh’s word, and returned and went their way, according to Yahweh’s word.

撒瑪利亞有一位耶和華的先知名叫俄德，他出城去迎接班師回來的軍隊，說：「看啊，你們祖先的上帝耶和華向猶大發怒，才將他們交在你們手中。你們竟怒氣衝天，對他們大加殺戮。現在你們竟還想讓猶大和耶路撒冷的男女做你們的僕俾。你們豈不也得罪你們的上帝耶和華嗎？你們還是聽我的忠告，釋放你們擄來的同胞，讓他們回去吧！因為耶和華的烈怒已經臨到你們了。」約哈難的兒子亞撒利雅、米實利末的兒子比利迦、沙龍的兒子耶希西迦和哈得萊的兒子亞瑪撒四位以法蓮族長起來阻擋從戰場回來的軍隊，說：「你們不可把這些俘虜帶進來，我們的罪已經夠重了，耶和華的烈怒已經臨到以色列人，不要再得罪耶和華，加重我們的罪惡了。」於是，士兵們便把俘虜和戰利品交給眾首領和民眾。那些以法蓮族長就上前照顧俘虜，從戰利品中拿出衣服和鞋子給那些赤身露體的俘虜穿上，供應他們吃喝，又給他們的傷口抹上油，讓軟弱的騎驢。他們把所有的俘虜送到棕樹城耶利哥他們的親族那裡，隨後返回撒瑪利亞。

耶和華這樣說，『你們不要上去與弟兄交戰，都回家吧，因為這事出於我。』」眾人聽從了耶和華的話，沒有去攻打耶羅波安，各自回家去了。

一位上帝的僕人來對他說：「王啊，不要讓以色列的軍隊與你同去，因為耶和華不與以色列人——以法蓮的子孫同在。你若一定要去，即使你奮勇爭戰，上帝也必使你敗在敵人面前，因為上帝有能力幫助，也有能力傾覆。」

他們擁立君王，未經我的同意；選立首領，沒有讓我知道。他們用金銀為自己製造神像，自取滅亡。

有一次，耶羅波安出了耶路撒冷，在路上遇見身披新衣的示羅人亞希雅先知。當時野外只有他們二人。亞希雅將身上的新衣撕作十二片，對耶羅波安說：「你可以拿十片。以色列的上帝耶和華說，『我必奪走所羅門的國，把十個支派賜給你。然而，為了我僕人大衛和我在以色列眾支派中揀選的耶路撒冷城，我會留下一個支派給所羅門。所羅門背棄了我，去祭拜西頓人的女神亞斯她錄、摩押的神明基抹、亞捫人的神明米勒公。他沒有遵行我的道，沒有做我視為正的事，也不像他父親大衛那樣遵守我的律例和典章。然而，我不會奪走他整個國，我會讓所羅門終生為王，因為我所揀選的僕人大衛遵守我的誡命和律法。我必從他兒子手中把國奪走，將十個支派賜給你，只給他兒子留下一個支派，好使我僕人大衛有後裔留在我選為居所的耶路撒冷城。我要讓你做王，使你如願地統治以色列。若你像我僕人大衛一樣聽從我的一切吩咐，遵行我的道，做我視為正的事，遵守我的律例誡命，我就與你同在，鞏固你的王朝，像鞏固大衛的王朝一樣，使你統治以色列。
