反而照少年人出的主意對眾民說：『我父親使你們負的軛很重，我卻要加重你們的軛呢；我父親用鞭子責打你們，我卻要用蠍子鞭責打你們呢。』

he followed the advice of the young men and said,“ My father made your yoke heavy; I will make it even heavier. My father scourged you with whips; I will scourge you with scorpions.”

and followed the counsel of his younger advisers. He told the people,“ My father laid heavy burdens on you, but I’m going to make them even heavier! My father beat you with whips, but I will beat you with scorpions!”

and spoke to them according to the young men’s advice:“ My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to your yoke; my father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with barbed whips.”

监工不给仆人们草，却命令我们做砖，还打我们，其实是你百姓的错。”法老说：“你们是懒惰的人，懒惰的人！所以才嚷着要去给耶和华献祭。回去继续工作！我不再供应草给你们，但砖要如数交齐。”

他们说：“民众说你父亲使他们负担沉重，请求你减轻他们的负担。你可以这样回复他们，‘我的小指头比我父亲的腰还粗。我父亲使你们负重担，我要使你们负更重的担子；我父亲用鞭子打你们，我要用刺鞭打你们。’”

争端爆发如洪水决堤，当在爆发前将其制止。

但如果你们心怀苦毒的嫉妒和自私的野心，就不要自夸说有智慧，也不要违背真理去撒谎。这种智慧并非来自天上，而是从世俗、私欲和魔鬼来的。哪里有嫉妒和自私的野心，哪里就会有混乱和各样的恶事。但从天上来的智慧首先是纯洁，然后是爱好和平、温良柔顺、充满怜悯、多结善果、不存偏见、没有虚伪。使人和睦的人撒下和平的种子，必收获仁义的果实。你们彼此冲突、互相斗殴的起因是什么呢？不就是你们身体中不断交战的欲望吗？你们贪心，得不到就去杀人。你们嫉妒，得不到就争吵、打斗。你们得不到是因为你们不向上帝祈求。

他像亚哈家一样做耶和华视为恶的事，因为他父亲死后，亚哈家便唆使他作恶，使他走向灭亡。他照亚哈家的主意，与以色列王亚哈的儿子约兰一起去基列的拉末征讨亚兰王哈薛。亚兰人击伤约兰，

事情的结局胜过事情的开端；恒久忍耐胜过心骄气傲。

所有总长、行政官、总督、谋士和省长都认为王应该下一道禁令，三十天内，任何人不得向王以外的神明或人祷告，违者必被扔进狮子坑。

强迫他们和泥造砖，并做田间一切的苦工，使他们痛苦不堪。

自高自大招惹纷争，虚心受教才是睿智。

米姆干当着王和大臣们的面说：“瓦实提王后不但冒犯了王，而且有害于举国的臣民。因为王后的事必传到所有妇女的耳中，致使她们藐视自己的丈夫，因为她们会说，‘亚哈随鲁王请瓦实提王后到他面前，她却不去。’今天，波斯和玛代的贵妇听到王后这事，也会如此对待王的大臣，藐视和恼怒之事必层出不穷。王若愿意，就请降旨不准瓦实提再到王面前，把她王后的位分赐给比她更好的女子，并将此谕旨写入波斯和玛代的律法，永不更改。王的谕旨传遍王辽阔的国境后，所有的妇女，无论丈夫贵贱，都必尊重他们。”王和大臣们都赞同米姆干的建议，王便依照他的建议，

王的侍臣说：“让人为王物色一些年轻貌美的处女吧。请王在国中各省委派专使把所有年轻漂亮的处女选入书珊城的女宫，交给管理女子的太监希该，供给她们美容用品。哪个女子讨王欢心，便立她为王后，代替瓦实提。”王觉得这个建议很好，就采纳了。

埃及王聪明的谋士——琐安的首领们变得愚不可及。他们怎敢在埃及王面前自称是古圣先贤的子孙呢？埃及王啊，你的智者在哪里呢？让他们把万军之耶和华对付埃及的计划告诉你吧！琐安的首领愚昧，挪弗的首领糊涂。他们是埃及的房角石，却把埃及人引入歧途。

义人的心思公平正直，恶人的计谋阴险诡诈。

骄横是沦亡的前奏，狂傲是败落的预兆。
