我所要的禁食，豈不是要你鬆開兇惡的繩，解開軛上的索，使被欺壓的得自由，折斷一切的軛嗎？

你，人子啊，雖有荊棘和蒺藜在你那裏，你又住在蠍子中間，總不要怕他們，也不要怕他們的話；他們雖是悖逆之家，但你不要怕他們的話，也不要因他們的臉色驚惶。

埃及人嚴厲地強迫以色列人做工，使他們因苦工而生活痛苦；無論是和泥，是做磚，是做田間各樣的工，一切的工埃及人都嚴厲地對待他們。

亞撒惱恨先見，為了這事向他發怒，將他囚在監裏。那時亞撒也虐待一些百姓。

那日，你們必因自己所選的王哀求耶和華，但那日耶和華卻不應允你們。」

他又說：「看哪，這地的以色列人如今這麼多，你們竟然叫他們歇下勞役！」當天，法老吩咐監工和工頭說：「你們不可照以前一樣提供草給百姓做磚，要叫他們自己去撿草。他們平時做磚的數目，你們仍舊向他們要，一點不可減少，因為他們是懶惰的，所以才呼求說：『讓我們去向我們的神獻祭。』你們要把更重的工作加在這些人身上，使他們在其中勞碌，不去理會謊言。」

但哪一邦肯把頸項放在巴比倫王的軛下服事他，我必使那邦仍在本地存留，在那裏耕種居住。這是耶和華說的。」

他照着年輕人所出的主意對他們說：「我父親使你們負重軛，我必使你們負更重的軛！我父親用鞭子懲罰你們，我卻要用蠍子懲罰你們！」

有蝗蟲從煙中出來，飛到地上，有權柄賜給牠們，好像地上的蠍子有權柄一樣。牠們奉命不可傷害地上的草、各樣綠色植物和各種樹木，惟獨可傷害額上沒有神印記的人；但是不許蝗蟲害死他們，只可使他們受痛苦五個月；這痛苦就像人被蠍子螫了的痛苦一樣。在那些日子，人求死，卻死不了；想死，死卻避開他們。蝗蟲的形狀好像預備上陣的戰馬一樣，頭上戴的好像金冠冕，臉面好像男人的臉面，頭髮像女人的頭髮，牙齒像獅子的牙齒；牠們胸前有甲，好像鐵甲；又有翅膀的響聲，好像許多車馬奔跑上陣的聲音。牠們有尾巴像蠍子，長着毒刺，尾巴上的毒刺有能力傷害人五個月。

現在，去做工吧！草是不會給你們，磚卻要如數交納。」

「你去告訴哈拿尼雅說，耶和華如此說：你折斷木軛，卻換來鐵軛！萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神如此說：我已將鐵軛加在這些國的頸項上，使他們服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒。他們總要服事他，我也把野地的走獸給了他。」
