人子啊，你不要怕他們，他們的話你可不要懼怕，雖有頂撞和藐視的人如同荊棘和蒺藜在你那裏，你又住在蠍子中間；他們的話你可不要懼怕，你不要因他們的臉色而驚慌；他們原是叛逆之家。

埃及人嚴嚴地使以色列人作工：用很難作的苦工：像和灰泥、作磚，作田間各樣的工：就是埃及人嚴嚴叫他們去作的各樣苦工，使他們的生活逕是苦味。

亞撒就惱怒先見，把他下在枷架監裏，因為為了這事亞撒很生氣他。同時亞撒也對一些人民橫施殘酷。

反而照少年人出的主意對眾民說：『我父親使你們負的軛很重，我卻要加重你們的軛呢；我父親用鞭子責打你們，我卻要用蠍子鞭責打你們呢。』

有蝗蟲從煙裏出來，到了地上；有權柄給了牠們，像地上的蠍子有權柄一樣。又有話吩咐牠們別傷害地上的草、或各樣青物、各樣樹木，惟獨要傷害人、那沒有上帝印記在額上的人。蝗蟲卻沒有得權柄可以殺戮他們，只要叫他們受苦痛五個月；他們的苦痛就像蠍子螫人時所引起的苦痛一樣。當那些日子、人必求死，決尋不着死；人必切願要死，死卻逃避他們。蝗蟲的形狀彷彿是馬豫備好了要出戰一樣。牠們頭上戴的像華冠、彷彿是金的；他們的臉面像人的臉面；牠們有頭髮像女人的頭髮；牠們的牙像獅子的牙；牠們有胸甲像鐵的胸甲，牠們翅膀的響聲像許多車馬奔跑出戰的響聲。牠們有尾巴彷彿是蠍子，又有毒刺；牠們那傷害人五個月的權柄就在於牠們的尾巴。

現在你們去作工；草是不給你們的，磚卻要如數照交。』

『你去告訴哈拿尼雅說：「永恆主這麼說：你折斷了木的軛，我卻要作鐵的軛來代替它。因為萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：我已將鐵的軛加在這些國的脖子上，使他們服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，他們總要服事他，連田野間的走獸、我也給了他。」』
