“‘我要的禁食是，除去罪恶的锁链，解开轭上的绳索，折断一切的轭，使受欺压的人得到自由，

人子啊，不要怕他们和他们的话，虽然你周围布满荆棘和毒蝎，也不要害怕。他们是一群叛逆的人，你不要怕他们的话，也不要因为他们的脸色而惊慌。

法老又说：“这地方的以色列人如此众多，你竟叫他们停止工作！”当天，法老就对埃及监工和以色列人的工头下令：“从今天开始，不许再供应草给他们制砖，叫他们自己去捡，但上交的砖的数量要和往常一样，一块也不可少。因为他们懒惰，所以才嚷着要去给他们的上帝献祭。你们要加重他们的工作，他们就无暇再听那些蛊惑人心的话了！”

但如果哪一国肯负巴比伦王的轭，臣服于他，我必使那国的人们留在本国，安居乐业。这是耶和华说的。’”

有蝗虫从烟里飞出来，落到地上，有地上蝎子的能力赐给它们。它们得到命令，不得毁坏地上的青草、树木和其他植物，只伤害额上没有上帝印记的人，但不可杀死他们，只折磨他们五个月。那种折磨就像被蝎子蛰到一样。那时候，人求死，却求不到；想死，死却躲避他们。那些蝗虫好像预备出征的战马一样，头上好像戴了金冠，面孔好像人脸，毛发好像女人的头发，牙齿好像狮子的牙，胸前有甲，如同铁甲，鼓动翅膀时声音如同千军万马奔赴战场。它们像蝎子一样尾巴上有毒钩，可以折磨人五个月。

回去继续工作！我不再供应草给你们，但砖要如数交齐。”
