I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.Nevertheless, they shall be servants to him, that they may know my service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.”So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem. He took away the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house. He took away everything. He also took away the shields of gold that Solomon had made,

The Lord of hosts has sworn:“ As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand,that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and on my mountains trample him under foot; and his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden from their shoulder.”This is the purpose that is purposed concerning the whole earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations.For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?

Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in the stocks in prison, for he was in a rage with him because of this. And Asa inflicted cruelties upon some of the people at the same time.

No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the Lord.
