As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

As Solomon grew older, his wives turned his heart toward other gods. He didn’t follow the Lord his God with all his heart. So he wasn’t like his father David.

For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.

如爾誠心實意、遵從我命、守我禮儀法度、於爾父大闢是則是效、

今爾有眾當誠心從我上帝耶和華、守其禮儀禁令、與今日無異。

不效父大闢、恆從耶和華、乃行惡於耶和華前、

告之曰、以色列王所羅門、娶於異邦而犯罪、昔所羅門在列國中、無王可比、上帝愛之、使治以色列、然異邦之女、陷之於罪。豈可任爾、娶異邦人陷於重罪、干犯上帝哉。

所羅門建二室、即耶和華殿、及所居宮室、凡越二十年、告厥成功、

我子所羅門、宜知爾父之上帝、誠心悅意事之、蓋耶和華鑒察人心、知悉人意、求之無弗得、遺之永見棄。

約沙法效祖大闢善行、宗事上帝、遵從厥命、不蹈以色列族之愆尤、而崇巴力、故蒙耶和華祐。

所有崇邱、雖猶不廢、然誠心從耶和華以畢其生、

於耶和華前、雖行善而心不誠。

其女必使爾子不從我、反從他上帝、如是耶和華震怒、絕爾甚速。

行善於耶和華前、繩厥祖大闢之武、無偏無頗。

濟父之惡、蹈於愆尤、不效祖大闢所為、中心誠恪、尊厥上帝耶和華、

賜我子所羅門、誠心守爾禁令、法度禮儀、我嘗備材、以建斯殿、亦願我子告厥成功。

如爾聽從我命、行由我道、作善於我前、守我禁令禮儀、效我僕大闢所為、則我必祐爾、鞏固爾國、與大闢無異、以以色列族畀爾治之。

耶和華歟、垂念我、行善於爾前、誠實無妄。祈畢哭甚哀。

所羅門子羅波暗乃亞捫族之婦拿馬所出、年四十有一、始即位於耶路撒冷、統轄猶大、歷十七載、耶路撒冷、即耶和華在以色列支派中所簡、以為籲名之所者。

以色列族出埃及後、四百八十年、所羅門即位之四年、西弗月、即二月、所羅門始建耶和華之殿。

王之嬪妃、不可加多、恐心昏迷、亦不得廣積金銀。

如爾循我禮儀、守我法度禁令、則昔所許爾父大闢者、我必踐言、爾所建之殿、我必居處、不厭棄我以色列族之民。

希西家在猶大全地、悉循斯例、行善於耶和華前、真實無妄。在上帝殿供役事、遵律例、守禁令、崇上帝、皆誠心為之、爰得福祉。
