As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

所羅門行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，不像他父親大衛專心順從耶和華。

以色列王所羅門不也在這樣的事上犯罪嗎？在許多國家中並沒有一位王像他，蒙他神喜愛，神立他作王治理全以色列。然而，連他也被外邦女子引誘犯罪。我們豈能聽憑你們行這一切大惡，娶外邦女子干犯我們的神呢？」

所羅門建造耶和華殿和王宮這兩座殿宇，用了二十年才完成。

「我兒所羅門哪，你當認識耶和華－你父的神，全心樂意地事奉他，因為耶和華鑒察眾人的心，知道一切心思意念。你若尋求他，他必使你尋見；你若離棄他，他必永遠丟棄你。

耶和華與約沙法同在，因為他行他祖先大衛從前所行的道，不去尋求諸巴力，

只是丘壇還沒有廢去。亞撒一生向耶和華存純正的心。

亞瑪謝行耶和華眼中看為正的事，只是沒有純正的心。

因為他必使你的兒女離棄我，去事奉別神，以致耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，迅速將你除滅。

他行耶和華眼中看為正的事，行他祖先大衛所行的道，不偏左右。

亞比央行他父親從前所犯一切的罪，他的心不像他曾祖父大衛以純正的心順服耶和華－他的神。

又求你賜我兒子所羅門全心遵守你的命令、法度、律例，成就這一切的事，用我所預備的建造殿宇。」

你若聽從我一切所吩咐你的，遵行我的道，行我眼中看為正的事，謹守我的律例誡命，像我僕人大衛所行的，我就與你同在，為你立堅固的家，像我為大衛所立的一樣，將以色列賜給你。

「耶和華啊，求你記念我在你面前怎樣存完全的心，按誠實行事，又做你眼中看為善的事。」希西家就痛哭。

所羅門的兒子羅波安作猶大王。他登基的時候年四十一歲，在耶路撒冷，就是耶和華從以色列眾支派中所選擇立他名的城，作王十七年。羅波安的母親名叫拿瑪，是亞捫人。

以色列人出埃及地後四百八十年，所羅門作以色列王第四年西弗月，就是二月，他開工建造耶和華的殿。

王不可為自己多立妃嬪，免得他的心偏離；也不可為自己多積金銀。

「論到你所建的這殿，你若遵行我的律例，謹守我的典章，遵從我的一切誡命，行在其中，我必向你應驗我所應許你父親大衛的話。我必住在以色列人中間，並不丟棄我的百姓以色列。」

希西家在全猶大都這樣辦理，在耶和華－他神面前行良善、正直、忠誠的事。凡他所行的，無論是開始辦神殿的事，是遵律法守誡命，是尋求他的神，他都盡心去做，無不亨通。

所羅門在耶路撒冷作全以色列的王四十年。

論到這些國的人，耶和華曾吩咐以色列人說：「你們不可跟他們通婚，他們也不可跟你們在一起，因為他們一定會誘惑你們的心去隨從他們的神明。」所羅門卻為了愛，緊緊跟從他們。
