As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

我又說：「以色列王所羅門不是在這樣的事上犯罪嗎？在多國中並沒有一王像他，且蒙他神所愛，神立他作以色列全國的王；然而連他也被外邦女子引誘犯罪。如此，我豈聽你們行這大惡，娶外邦女子干犯我們的神呢？」

所羅門建造耶和華殿和王宮，這兩所二十年才完畢了。

「我兒所羅門哪，你當認識耶和華－你父的神，誠心樂意地事奉他；因為他鑒察眾人的心，知道一切心思意念。你若尋求他，他必使你尋見；你若離棄他，他必永遠丟棄你。

耶和華與約沙法同在；因為他行他祖大衛初行的道，不尋求巴力，

只是邱壇還沒有廢去。亞撒一生卻向耶和華存誠實的心。

亞瑪謝行耶和華眼中看為正的事，只是心不專誠。

因為他必使你兒子轉離不跟從主，去事奉別神，以致耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，就速速地將你們滅絕。

他行耶和華眼中看為正的事，效法他祖大衛所行的，不偏左右。

亞比央行他父親在他以前所行的一切惡，他的心不像他祖大衛的心，誠誠實實地順服耶和華－他的神。

又求你賜我兒子所羅門誠實的心，遵守你的命令、法度、律例，成就這一切的事，用我所預備的建造殿宇。」

你若聽從我一切所吩咐你的，遵行我的道，行我眼中看為正的事，謹守我的律例誡命，像我僕人大衛所行的，我就與你同在，為你立堅固的家，像我為大衛所立的一樣，將以色列人賜給你。

「耶和華啊，求你記念我在你面前怎樣存完全的心，按誠實行事，又做你眼中所看為善的。」希西家就痛哭了。

所羅門的兒子羅波安作猶大王。他登基的時候年四十一歲，在耶路撒冷，就是耶和華從以色列眾支派中所選擇立他名的城，作王十七年。羅波安的母親名叫拿瑪，是亞捫人。

以色列人出埃及地後四百八十年，所羅門作以色列王第四年西弗月，就是二月，開工建造耶和華的殿。

他也不可為自己多立妃嬪，恐怕他的心偏邪；也不可為自己多積金銀。

「論到你所建的這殿，你若遵行我的律例，謹守我的典章，遵從我的一切誡命，我必向你應驗我所應許你父親大衛的話。我必住在以色列人中間，並不丟棄我民以色列。」

希西家在猶大遍地這樣辦理，行耶和華－他神眼中看為善為正為忠的事。凡他所行的，無論是辦神殿的事，是遵律法守誡命，是尋求他的神，都是盡心去行，無不亨通。

所羅門在耶路撒冷作以色列眾人的王共四十年。

論到這些國的人，耶和華曾曉諭以色列人說：「你們不可與她們往來相通，因為她們必誘惑你們的心去隨從她們的神。」所羅門卻戀愛這些女子。
