I will humble David’s descendants because of this, but not forever.’”

and tore the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to you; and yet you have not been as My servant David, who kept My commandments and who followed Me with all his heart, to do only what was right in My eyes;

Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Lord, where are Your former lovingkindnesses, Which You swore to David in Your truth?Remember, Lord, the reproach of Your servants— How I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the many peoples,With which Your enemies have reproached, O Lord, With which they have reproached the footsteps of Your anointed.

It happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem.And he took away the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house; he took away everything. He also took away all the gold shields which Solomon had made.
