When all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent and called him to the congregation, and made him king over all Israel. There was no one who followed David’s house, except for the tribe of Judah only.

then it shall happen that to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the wave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to Yahweh.

( but he shall have one tribe, for my servant David’s sake and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel);

But to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, you shall seek his habitation, and you shall come there.

Yahweh, remember David and all his affliction,

and give him no rest, until he establishes, and until he makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

But I will not completely take my loving kindness from him, nor allow my faithfulness to fail.I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered.Once I have sworn by my holiness, I will not lie to David.His offspring will endure forever, his throne like the sun before me.It will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.” Selah.

For Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness shines out like the dawn, and her salvation like a burning lamp.

but my loving kindness will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.Your house and your kingdom will be made sure forever before you. Your throne will be established forever.”’”

He built altars in Yahweh’s house, of which Yahweh said,“ I will put my name in Jerusalem.”

What will they answer the messengers of the nation? That Yahweh has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people will take refuge.

Not for your righteousness or for the uprightness of your heart do you go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations Yahweh your God does drive them out from before you, and that he may establish the word which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father, David,and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. There will be no end to his Kingdom.”

Lord, where are your former loving kindnesses, which you swore to David in your faithfulness?

but I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand, and will give it to you, even ten tribes.I will give one tribe to his son, that David my servant may have a lamp always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there.

Yahweh said,“ I will also remove Judah out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and I will cast off this city which I have chosen, even Jerusalem, and the house of which I said,‘ My name shall be there.’”

Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this.

Therefore Yahweh said to Solomon,“ Because this is done by you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.Nevertheless, I will not do it in your days, for David your father’s sake; but I will tear it out of your son’s hand.

‘ For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.’”

But Yahweh was gracious to them, and had compassion on them, and had respect for them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, and he didn’t cast them from his presence as yet.

I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will not take my loving kindness away from him, as I took it from him that was before you;but I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom forever. His throne will be established forever.”’”

I will afflict the offspring of David for this, but not forever.’”

For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.“ This is my resting place forever. I will live here, for I have desired it.

I will make the horn of David to bud there. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.

“ In those days and at that time, I will cause a Branch of righteousness to grow up to David. He will execute justice and righteousness in the land.In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell safely. This is the name by which she will be called: Yahweh our righteousness.”For Yahweh says:“ David will never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel.The Levitical priests won’t lack a man before me to offer burnt offerings, to burn meal offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.”Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,“ Yahweh says:‘ If you can break my covenant of the day and my covenant of the night, so that there will not be day and night in their time;then may my covenant also be broken with David my servant, that he won’t have a son to reign on his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.As the army of the sky can’t be counted, and the sand of the sea can’t be measured; so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant and the Levites who minister to me.’”Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,“ Don’t consider what this people has spoken, saying,‘ Has Yahweh cast off the two families which he chose?’ Thus they despise my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.”Yahweh says:“ If my covenant of day and night fails, if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;then I will also cast away the offspring of Jacob, and of David my servant, so that I will not take of his offspring to be rulers over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to be reversed and will have mercy on them.”
