示巴女王看見所羅門的智慧和他建造的宮殿，他席上的食物，群臣的座位，僕人的侍候和他們的服飾，酒政和酒政的服飾，以及所羅門在耶和華殿裡所獻的燔祭，就十分驚訝。

神賜給所羅門智慧、極大的聰明和廣大的心，好像海邊的沙那樣無限無量。所羅門的智慧大過所有東方人的智慧，大過埃及人的一切智慧。他比萬人都有智慧，勝過以斯拉人以探和瑪曷的三個兒子希幔、甲各、達大的智慧。他的名聲傳遍了四周列國。

以色列眾人聽見王判斷的這案件，就都敬畏他，因為看見他心裡有神的智慧，能夠判案。

審判的時候，南方的女王要和這個世代一同起來，定這個世代的罪，因為她從地極來到，要聽所羅門智慧的話。你看，這裡有一位是比所羅門更大的。

以色列人出埃及地以後四百八十年，所羅門作以色列王的第四年西弗月，就是二月，他動工建造耶和華的殿。所羅門為耶和華所建的殿，長二十七公尺，寬九公尺，高十三公尺半。殿的前廊長九公尺，和殿的寬度一樣，寬四公尺半。又為殿做了窗架子內寬外窄的窗戶。緊靠殿牆，就是圍著外殿和內殿的牆，他又建造平臺，圍繞殿的四周，做成廂房。廂房的下層寬兩公尺兩公寸；中層寬兩公尺七公寸；第三層寬三公尺一公寸。他在殿牆外面四周留有暗架，所以梁木不必插入殿牆裡。建殿是用採石場預備好了的石料；所以建殿的時候，在殿裡聽不到鎚子、斧頭或任何鐵器的聲音。

傳道者不但有智慧，還將知識教訓眾人；他既揣摩，又查考，也編撰了許多箴言。
