那時，約拿單和亞希瑪斯在隱‧羅結那裏等候，不敢進城，恐怕被人看見。有一個使女出來，將這話告訴他們，他們就去報信給大衛王。

押沙龍在耶路撒冷請了二百人與他同去，都是誠誠實實去的，並不知道其中的真情。押沙龍獻祭的時候，打發人去將大衛的謀士、基羅人亞希多弗從他本城請了來。於是叛逆的勢派甚大；因為隨從押沙龍的人民，日漸增多。

從亞割谷往北，上到底璧，直向河南亞都冥坡對面的吉甲；又接連到隱‧示麥泉，直通到隱‧羅結，

惡人獻祭，為耶和華所憎惡；正直人祈禱，為他所喜悅。

過了二年，在靠近以法蓮的巴力‧夏瑣有人為押沙龍剪羊毛；押沙龍請王的眾子與他同去。押沙龍來見王，說：「現在有人為僕人剪羊毛，請王和王的臣僕與僕人同去。」王對押沙龍說：「我兒，我們不必都去，恐怕使你耗費太多。」押沙龍再三請王，王仍是不肯去，只為他祝福。押沙龍說：「王若不去，求王許我哥哥暗嫩同去。」王說：「何必要他去呢？」押沙龍再三求王，王就許暗嫩和王的眾子與他同去。
