眾百姓到了吉甲那裏，在耶和華面前擁立掃羅為王，又在耶和華面前獻平安祭。掃羅和以色列眾人在那裏都非常歡喜。

以上都是能列隊上陣的戰士，他們都全心來到希伯崙，要擁立大衛作全以色列的王。以色列其餘的人也都一心要擁立大衛作王。他們在那裏三日，與大衛一同吃喝，因為他們同族的弟兄已經為他們預備好了。他們附近的人，以及以薩迦、西布倫、拿弗他利人，都將食物，許多麵餅、無花果餅、乾葡萄、酒、油，用驢、駱駝、騾子、牛馱來，又帶了許多的牛和羊來，因為在以色列中充滿了歡樂。

她觀看，看哪，王照儀式站在柱旁，百夫長和號手在王旁邊，國中的眾百姓歡樂吹號。亞她利雅就撕裂衣服，喊着說：「反了！反了！」

你們一聽見角、號、琴、瑟、三角琴、鼓和各樣樂器的聲音，就當俯伏，拜尼布甲尼撒王所立的金像。

第七位天使吹號，天上就有大聲音說：「世上的國已成了我們的主和他所立的基督的國了。他要作王直到永永遠遠！」在神面前，坐在自己座位上的二十四位長老都俯伏在地上敬拜神，說：「今在昔在的主－全能的神啊，我們感謝你！因你執掌大權作王了。外邦發怒，你的憤怒臨到了。審判死人的時候也到了；你的僕人眾先知、眾聖徒及敬畏你名的人，連大帶小得賞賜的時候到了；你毀滅那些毀滅大地者的時候也到了。」
