上帝啊，將你的判斷才德賜給王哦；將你的公義賜給王的兒子哦！願他按公義為你的人民行裁判，按公平為你的困苦人伸訴。

然而永恆主以色列的上帝在我父全家揀選了我做王永遠管理以色列；因為他揀選了猶大做人君；在猶大家他揀選了我父的家；在我父的兒子裏他喜悅了我，立我做王來管理以色列眾人；而在我的眾兒子裏——因為永恆主賜給我許多兒子——他揀選了我的兒子所羅門坐永恆主之國的王位來管理以色列。

她對王說：『我主啊，你曾經指着永恆主你的上帝向你使女起過誓說：「你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，坐我的位。」

亞多尼雅說：『你知道王位原是屬我的；以色列眾人也都意向着我來作王；不料王位反而歸了我兄弟；因為歸他原是出於永恆主。
