大衛年老，壽數將盡的時候，就立他的兒子所羅門作王統治以色列。

亞多尼雅說：“你知道這國位原是我的，以色列眾人都希望我作王；不料國位反歸了我的弟弟，因為他得著國位是出於耶和華。
