後大衛與列祖同寢、葬於大衛之城、

主諭摩西曰、爾與列祖偕寢之後、斯民必起、存邪僻之心、往拜異邦之神、即所將往之地、其居民所敬之神、違棄我、背我與彼所立之約、

迨爾年壽已滿、與爾列祖同寢、我必使爾所出之苗裔、所出之苗裔或作所生之子繼爾位、我亦必鞏固其國、

爾必安然歸祖、享大壽終而葬、

所羅門王謂母曰、母緣何為亞多尼雅獨求書念女亞比煞耶、彼為我兄、可為彼與祭司亞比亞他及西魯雅子約押求國矣、所羅門王遂指主而誓曰、亞多尼雅此言、乃自喪命、不然、願天主從重罰我、永生之主堅立我、使登我父大衛之位、又循其所許之言、為我成立家業、我指之而誓、亞多尼雅今日必死、

曰、爾知國位原屬我、且以色列人眾皆盼我為王、不意國位反歸我弟、蓋其事出乎主也、
