今以色列族眾所仰者、惟待王明言、我主我王之後、誰踐爾位、

今以色列人眾之目、皆仰望我主我王、待王曉諭我主我王之後、誰坐王位、

My lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, to learn from you who will sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

You are my king and master. All the Israelites are watching to see what you will do. They want to find out from you who will sit on the throne after you.

And now, my lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, to tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

現在你當謹慎，因為耶和華揀選了你建造殿宇，作為聖所；你要勇敢地去作。”

看我在約書亞面前所立的石頭，在這一塊石頭上有七眼。看哪！我要親自雕琢這石頭（這是萬軍之耶和華的宣告）。在一日之內，我要除去這地的罪孽。

在我的眾子中（因為耶和華賜給我許多兒子），他揀選了我的兒子所羅門，坐耶和華的國位，統治以色列。耶和華對我說：‘你的兒子所羅門要建造我的殿宇和庭院；因為我已經揀選他作我的兒子，我也要作他的父親。

耶和華的靈藉著我說話，他的話在我的舌頭上。

我的眼睛時常仰望耶和華，因為他必使我的腳脫離網羅。

我們的神啊，你不懲罰他們嗎？因為我們沒有力量抵擋這來攻打我們的大軍；我們也不知道該作甚麼；我們的眼睛只有仰望你。”

大衛王對全體會眾說：“我的兒子所羅門，是神所揀選的，現在還年幼識淺，而這工程非常浩大；因為這殿宇不是為人建造，而是為耶和華神建造的。

僕人的眼睛怎樣望著主人的手，婢女的眼睛怎樣望著主母的手，我們的眼睛也照樣望著耶和華我們的神，直到他向我們施恩。

看哪，你必生一個兒子；他是個和平的人，我必使他得享太平，不被四圍所有的仇敵騷擾；他的名字要叫所羅門，他在位的日子，我必把太平和安寧賜給以色列人。他要為我的名建造殿宇；他要作我的兒子，我要作他的父親；我必堅立他的國位，永遠統治以色列。’我兒啊，現在願耶和華與你同在，使你亨通，照著他應許你，建造耶和華你的神的殿宇。
