Go in and see King David. Say to him,‘ You are my king and master. You promised me,“ You can be sure that your son Solomon will be king after me. He will sit on my throne.” If that’s really true, why has Adonijah become king?’

你去，进到大卫王那里，对他说：‘我主我王啊，你不是曾向使女起誓说：你儿子所罗门必接续我作王，他必坐在我的王位上吗？亚多尼雅怎么作了王呢？’

你去，进到大卫王那里，对他说：‘我主我王啊，你不是曾向使女起誓说：你儿子所罗门必接续我作王，他必坐在我的王位上吗？亚多尼雅怎么作了王呢？’

你去见大卫王，对他说，‘我主我王啊，你不是起誓说让臣妾的儿子所罗门继承王位吗？怎么现在亚多尼雅做了王呢？’

你进去见大卫王，对他说：‘我主我王，你不是曾经向婢女起誓，说：“你的儿子所罗门必接续我作王，他要坐在我的王位上”吗？现在为什么亚多尼雅作了王呢？’

你進去見大衛王，對他說：『我主我王啊，你不曾向婢女起誓說：你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，坐在我的位上嗎？現在亞多尼雅怎麼作了王呢？』

你去，進到大衛王那裏，對他說：『我主我王啊，你不是曾向使女起誓說：你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，他必坐在我的王位上嗎？亞多尼雅怎麼作了王呢？』

你去，進到大衛王那裏，對他說：『我主我王啊，你不是曾向使女起誓說：你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，他必坐在我的王位上嗎？亞多尼雅怎麼作了王呢？』

你去見大衛王，對他說，『我主我王啊，你不是起誓說讓臣妾的兒子所羅門繼承王位嗎？怎麼現在亞多尼雅做了王呢？』

你進去見大衛王，對他說：‘我主我王，你不是曾經向婢女起誓，說：“你的兒子所羅門必接續我作王，他要坐在我的王位上”嗎？現在為甚麼亞多尼雅作了王呢？’

你進去見大衛王，對他說：「我主我王啊，你不是曾經向使女起過誓說：『你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，坐我的位麼？』為甚麼亞多尼雅作了王呢？」

當入覲大衛王、告之曰、我主我王歟、昔非與婢誓曰、爾子所羅門、必繼我為王、而坐我位乎、今亞多尼雅為王、何也、

當往覲大闢王、告之曰、昔我主我王、與婢相誓、婢子所羅門必即位、繼爾為王、今亞多尼雅即位、曷故。

當往見大衛王、告之曰、我主我王曾誓於婢曰、爾子所羅門必繼我為王、必坐我之位、今緣何亞多尼雅竟為王耶、

Go in to King David and say to him,‘ My lord the king, did you not swear to me your servant:“ Surely Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he will sit on my throne”? Why then has Adonijah become king?’

Go in at once to King David, and say to him,‘ Did you not, my lord the king, swear to your servant, saying,“ Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne”? Why then is Adonijah king?’

Go at once to King David and say to him,‘ My lord the king, didn’t you make a vow and say to me,“ Your son Solomon will surely be the next king and will sit on my throne”? Why then has Adonijah become king?’

Go, approach King David and say to him,‘ My lord the king, did you not swear to your servant: Your son Solomon is to become king after me, and he is the one who is to sit on my throne? So why has Adonijah become king?’

Go at once to King David and say to him,‘ Have you not, my lord the king, sworn to your servant, saying,“ Solomon your son certainly shall be king after me, and he shall sit on my throne”? Why then has Adonijah become king?’

Go immediately to King David and say to him,‘ Did you not, my Lord, O king, swear to your maidservant, saying,“ Assuredly your son Solomon shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne”? Why then has Adonijah become king?’

Go and get thee in unto king David, and say unto him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear unto thy handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then doth Adonijah reign?

Go, approach King David and say to him,‘ My lord the king, did you not swear to your servant: Your son Solomon is to become king after me, and he is the one who is to sit on my throne? So why has Adonijah become king?’

Go and get thee in unto king David, and say unto him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then doth Adonijah reign?

Visit King David and say to him,‘ My master, O king, did you not solemnly promise your servant,“ Surely your son Solomon will be king after me; he will sit on my throne”? So why has Adonijah become king?’

Go in to king David, and tell him,‘ Didn’t you, my lord, king, swear to your servant, saying,“ Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne?” Why then does Adonijah reign?’

And you can be just as sure I will do what I promised. This is the day I will do what I promised in the name of the Lord. He is the God of Israel. I promised you that your son Solomon would be king after me. He will sit on my throne in my place.”

She said to him,“ My master, you made a promise in the name of the Lord your God. You promised me,‘ Your son Solomon will be king after me. He will sit on my throne.’

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will make him a king like his father David of long ago.The Son of the Most High God will rule forever over his people. They are from the family line of Jacob. That kingdom will never end.”

When he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he must make for himself a copy of the law. He must write on a scroll the law that I am teaching you. He must copy it from the scroll of a priest, who is a Levite.

He said,‘ I praise the Lord. He is the God of Israel. He has let me live to see my son sitting on my throne today as the next king.’ ”

Then come back up to the city with him. Have him sit on my throne. He will rule in my place. I’ve appointed him ruler over Israel and Judah.”

So Solomon sat on the throne of his father David. His position as king was made secure.

Nathan asked Solomon’s mother Bathsheba,“ Haven’t you heard? Adonijah, the son of Haggith, has made himself king. And King David doesn’t know anything about it.

Nathan said,“ You are my king and master. Have you announced that Adonijah will be king after you? Have you said he will sit on your throne?

Only then could my covenant with my servant David be broken. Only then could my covenant with the Levites who serve me as priests be broken. Only then would David no longer have someone from his family line to rule on his throne.

Then he sent for his son Solomon. He told him to build a house for the Lord, the God of Israel.David said to Solomon,“ My son, with all my heart I wanted to build a house for the Lord my God. That’s where his Name will be.But a message from the Lord came to me. It said,‘ You have spilled the blood of many people. You have fought many wars. You are not the one who will build a house for my Name. That is because I have seen you spill the blood of many people on the earth.But you are going to have a son. He will be a man of peace. And I will give him peace and rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon. I will give Israel peace and quiet while he is king.He will build a house for my Name. He will be my son. And I will be his father. I will make his kingdom secure over Israel. It will last forever.’“ My son, may the Lord be with you. May you have success. May you build the house of the Lord your God, just as he said you would.May the Lord give you good sense. May he give you understanding when he makes you king over Israel. Then you will keep the law of the Lord your God.Be careful to obey the rules and laws the Lord gave Moses for Israel. Then you will have success. Be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid. Don’t lose hope.

There will be no limit to how great his authority is. The peace he brings will never end. He will rule on David’s throne and over his kingdom. He will make the kingdom strong and secure. His rule will be based on what is fair and right. It will last forever. The Lord’ s great love will make sure that happens. He rules over all.

So Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord. He ruled as king in place of his father David. Things went well with him. All the people of Israel obeyed him.

The Lord made a promise to David. It is a firm promise that he will never break. He said,“ After you die, I will place one of your own sons on your throne.If your sons keep my covenant and the laws I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever.”
