Then Nathan asked Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother,“ Have you not heard that Adonijah, the son of Haggith, has become king, and our lord David knows nothing about it?

Nathan asked Solomon’s mother Bathsheba,“ Haven’t you heard? Adonijah, the son of Haggith, has made himself king. And King David doesn’t know anything about it.

Then Nathan said to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon,“ Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith has become king and David our lord does not know it?

Then Nathan went to Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother, and asked her,“ Haven’t you heard that Haggith’s son, Adonijah, has made himself king, and our lord David doesn’t even know about it?

Then Nathan said to Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother,“ Have you not heard that Adonijah son of Haggith has become king and our lord David does not know it?

Then Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying,“ Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith has become king, and David our lord does not know it?

Then Nathan spake unto Bath- sheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our lord knoweth it not?

Then Nathan said to Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother,“ Have you not heard that Adonijah son of Haggith has become king and our lord David does not know it?

Wherefore Nathan spake unto Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our lord knoweth[ it] not?

Nathan said to Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother,“ Has it been reported to you that Haggith’s son Adonijah has become king behind our master David’s back?

Then Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying,“ Haven’t you heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith reigns, and David our lord doesn’t know it?

四子亞多尼雅，是哈及所生的。五子示法提雅，是亞比他所生的。

他要為我的名建造殿宇；他要作我的兒子，我要作他的父親；我必堅立他的國位，永遠統治以色列。’我兒啊，現在願耶和華與你同在，使你亨通，照著他應許你，建造耶和華你的神的殿宇。

大衛安慰他的妻子拔示巴，進到她那裡去，與她同睡。她生了一個兒子，大衛給他起名叫所羅門；耶和華也喜愛他，就差派拿單先知去，照著耶和華的吩咐，給他起名叫耶底底亞。

到了你的壽數滿足，你與你的列祖一起長眠的時候，我必興起你親生的後裔接替你，並且我要堅固他的國。他必為我的名建造一座殿宇，我要永遠堅固他的國位。我要作他的父親，他要作我的兒子，他若是犯了罪，我要用人的刑杖、用世人的鞭子糾正他。但我的慈愛必不離開他，像離開在你面前的掃羅一樣。你的家和你的王國，也必在我(按照《馬索拉文本》，「我」作「你」；現參照其他抄本及古譯本翻譯)的面前永遠堅定，你的王位也必永遠堅立。’”拿單按著這一切話，又照著全部的默示，都對大衛說了。

大衛王對全體會眾說：“我的兒子所羅門，是神所揀選的，現在還年幼識淺，而這工程非常浩大；因為這殿宇不是為人建造，而是為耶和華神建造的。

然而耶和華以色列的神，在我父的全家揀選了我作以色列人的王，直到永遠；因為他揀選了猶大作領袖；在猶大家中揀選了我的父家；在我父親的眾子中，他喜悅我，立我作全以色列的王；在我的眾子中（因為耶和華賜給我許多兒子），他揀選了我的兒子所羅門，坐耶和華的國位，統治以色列。
