We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.

We accept what people say when they are witnesses. But it’s more important when God is a witness. That’s because it is what God says about his Son.

If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son.

Since we believe human testimony, surely we can believe the greater testimony that comes from God. And God has testified about his Son.

If we accept human testimony, God’s testimony is greater, because it is God’s testimony that he has given about his Son.

藉這兩件不更改的事，神決不能說謊，好叫我們這逃往避難所、持定擺在我們前頭指望的人可以大得勉勵。

說話之間，忽然有一朵光明的雲彩遮蓋他們，且有聲音從雲彩裏出來，說：「這是我的愛子，我所喜悅的。你們要聽他！」

「我若為自己作見證，我的見證就不真。另有一位給我作見證，我也知道他給我作的見證是真的。你們曾差人到約翰那裏，他為真理作過見證。其實，我所受的見證不是從人來的；然而，我說這些話，為要叫你們得救。約翰是點着的明燈，你們情願暫時喜歡他的光。但我有比約翰更大的見證；因為父交給我要我成就的事，就是我所做的事，這便見證我是父所差來的。差我來的父也為我作過見證。你們從來沒有聽見他的聲音，也沒有看見他的形像。
