He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare,‘ Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”( When he said“ living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)

God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace.

Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us.

Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people,

This is real love— not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
