We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them.

We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.

Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.

and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too.

“ I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.Look, I will force those who belong to Satan’s synagogue— those liars who say they are Jews but are not— to come and bow down at your feet. They will acknowledge that you are the ones I love.“ Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world.

I have refused to walk on any evil path, so that I may remain obedient to your word.

For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.

He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.

“ I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me,

We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.

But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.

They are reborn— not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

I said to myself,“ I will watch what I do and not sin in what I say. I will hold my tongue when the ungodly are around me.”

Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.

And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.

I have followed your commands, which keep me from following cruel and evil people.

“ I know that you live in the city where Satan has his throne, yet you have remained loyal to me. You refused to deny me even when Antipas, my faithful witness, was martyred among you there in Satan’s city.

Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.”Jesus replied,“ I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”“ What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus.“ How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”Jesus replied,“ I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.
