If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.

Suppose you see any brother or sister commit a sin. But this sin is not the kind that leads to death. Then you should pray, and God will give them life. I’m talking about someone whose sin does not lead to death. But there is a sin that does lead to death. I’m not saying you should pray about that sin.

If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life— to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that.

If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it.

「所以，你不要為這百姓祈禱；不要為他們呼求禱告，也不要為他們向我祈求，因我不聽你。

耶和華又對我說：「不要為這百姓求福。

他們說：「來吧！讓我們設計謀害耶利米；因為我們有祭司講律法，有智慧人設謀略，有先知說預言，都未曾斷絕。來吧！讓我們用舌頭攻擊他，不要理他一切的話。」耶和華啊，求你留心聽我，且聽那些指控我的人的話。人豈可以惡報善呢？他們竟挖坑要害我的性命！求你記念我站在你面前為他們說好話，要使你的憤怒轉離他們。因此，願他們的兒女忍受饑荒，願他們死於刀劍之手；願他們的妻無子，且作寡婦，願他們的男人被死亡所滅，他們的壯丁在陣上被刀擊殺。

耶和華對我說：「雖有摩西和撒母耳站在我面前，我的心也不顧惜這百姓。你把他們從我眼前趕出，叫他們出去吧！他們若問你說：『我們往哪裏去呢？』你就告訴他們，耶和華如此說：『定為死亡的，必致死亡；定為刀殺的，必被刀殺；定為饑荒的，必遭饑荒；定為擄掠的，必被擄掠。』」

我在他們中間尋找一人重修城牆，在我面前為這地站在缺口上，使我不致滅絕它，卻連一個也找不着。

耶和華對摩西說：「這百姓藐視我要到幾時呢？我在他們中間行了這一切神蹟，他們還不信我要到幾時呢？我要用瘟疫擊殺他們，使他們不得承受那地。我要使你成為大國，比他們強大。」摩西對耶和華說：「埃及人必聽見，因你曾施展大能，領這百姓從他們中間出來。埃及人要告訴這地的居民，他們已經聽見你－耶和華是在這百姓中間，因為你－耶和華面對面顯示自己，你的雲彩停在他們以上。你日間在雲柱中，夜間在火柱中，在他們的前面行。你若把這百姓殺了，好像殺一個人那樣，那聽見你名聲的列國必說：『耶和華因為不能把這百姓領進他向他們起誓應許之地，所以在曠野把他們殺了。』現在求主顯出大能，照你說過的話說：『耶和華不輕易發怒，且有豐盛的慈愛。他赦免罪孽和過犯，萬不以有罪的為無罪，必懲罰人的罪，從父到子，直到三、四代。』求你照你的大慈愛赦免這百姓的罪孽，好像你從埃及到如今饒恕這百姓一樣。」耶和華說：「我照着你的話赦免他們。然而，我指着我的永生與遍地充滿了耶和華的榮耀起誓：

因此，他說要滅絕他們；若非他所揀選的摩西在他面前站在破裂之處，使他的憤怒轉消，恐怕他就滅絕他們了。

於是摩西哀求耶和華說：「神啊，求你醫治她！」

銅匠亞歷山大多方害我；主必照他所行的報應他。
