If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.

Suppose you see any brother or sister commit a sin. But this sin is not the kind that leads to death. Then you should pray, and God will give them life. I’m talking about someone whose sin does not lead to death. But there is a sin that does lead to death. I’m not saying you should pray about that sin.

耶和华又对我说：“不要为这百姓祈祷求好处。

他们就说：“来吧！我们可以设计谋害耶利米；因为我们有祭司讲律法，智慧人设谋略，先知说预言，都不能断绝。来吧！我们可以用舌头击打他，不要理会他的一切话。”耶和华啊，求你理会我，且听那些与我争竞之人的话。岂可以恶报善呢？他们竟挖坑要害我的性命！求你记念我怎样站在你面前为他们代求，要使你的忿怒向他们转消。故此，愿你将他们的儿女交与饥荒和刀剑；愿他们的妻无子，且作寡妇；又愿他们的男人被死亡所灭，他们的少年人在阵上被刀击杀。

耶和华对我说：“虽有摩西和撒母耳站在我面前代求，我的心也不顾惜这百姓。你将他们从我眼前赶出，叫他们去吧！他们问你说：‘我们往哪里去呢？’你便告诉他们：‘耶和华如此说：定为死亡的，必致死亡；定为刀杀的，必交刀杀；定为饥荒的，必遭饥荒；定为掳掠的，必被掳掠。’”

我在他们中间寻找一人重修墙垣，在我面前为这国站在破口防堵，使我不灭绝这国，却找不着一个。

耶和华对摩西说：“这百姓藐视我要到几时呢？我在他们中间行了这一切神迹，他们还不信我要到几时呢？我要用瘟疫击杀他们，使他们不得承受那地，叫你的后裔成为大国，比他们强胜。”摩西对耶和华说：“埃及人必听见这事；因为你曾施展大能，将这百姓从他们中间领上来。埃及人要将这事传给迦南地的居民；那民已经听见你耶和华是在这百姓中间；因为你面对面被人看见，有你的云彩停在他们以上。你日间在云柱中，夜间在火柱中，在他们前面行。如今你若把这百姓杀了，如杀一人，那些听见你名声的列邦必议论说：‘耶和华因为不能把这百姓领进他向他们起誓应许之地，所以在旷野把他们杀了。’现在求主大显能力，照你所说过的话说：‘耶和华不轻易发怒，并有丰盛的慈爱，赦免罪孽和过犯；万不以有罪的为无罪，必追讨他的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代。’求你照你的大慈爱赦免这百姓的罪孽，好像你从埃及到如今常赦免他们一样。”耶和华说：“我照着你的话赦免了他们。然我指着我的永生起誓，遍地要被我的荣耀充满。

所以，他说要灭绝他们；若非有他所拣选的摩西站在当中，使他的忿怒转消，恐怕他就灭绝他们。

于是摩西哀求耶和华说：“神啊，求你医治她！”
