你们从这一点就认出神的灵：任何灵承认耶稣基督是以肉身而来的，这灵就是出于神；

我们知道，因为我们爱弟兄，我们就已经出死入生了；那不爱弟兄的，就住在死亡中。

但如果有人拥有世界的财产，看见自己的弟兄有需要，却封闭情感，那么，属神的爱怎么能住在他里面呢？

如果有人说“我爱神”，却恨自己的弟兄，他就是说谎者，因为一个人不爱自己所看到的弟兄，就不能爱没有看到的神。

愿颂赞归于神——我们主耶稣基督的父！他照着自己极大的怜悯，藉着耶稣基督从死人中的复活，使我们重生，得着永生的盼望，

当他们沿路前行的时候，来到一个有水的地方。太监说：“看哪，有水！有什么能阻止我受洗呢？”

凡是由神所生的，不继续犯罪，因为神的种子住在他里面；他也不能继续犯罪，因为他是由神所生的。
