可愛哉小子、爾等則本乎天主、而戰勝若輩矣。無他寓於爾內者、實遠勝乎寓於世間者也。

因为我们争战的对象不是这世上的血肉之躯，而是在这黑暗世界执政的、掌权的、管辖的和天上属灵的邪恶势力。因此，你们要用上帝所赐的全副军装装备自己，好在邪恶的时代抵挡仇敌，到争战结束后依旧昂首挺立。

最后，你们要靠着主和祂的大能大力做刚强的人，

我要赐他们永生，他们永不灭亡。没有人能从我的手里把他们抢走。我父把羊赐给我，祂比万物都大，没有人能从祂手中把羊抢走。我和父本为一。”

祂是真理的灵，世人不接受祂，因为他们看不见祂，也不认识祂；但你们却认识祂，因祂常与你们同在，并且要住在你们里面。我不会撇下你们为孤儿，我必到你们这里来。不久，世人就看不见我了，而你们却能看见我，因为我活着，你们也要活着。到了那一天，你们就知道我在父里面，你们在我里面，我也在你们里面。接受我的命令又遵行的，就是爱我的人。爱我的，父必定爱他，我也要爱他，并且要亲自向他显现。”犹大，不是后来出卖耶稣的犹大，问耶稣：“主啊，你为什么只向我们显现而不向世人显现呢？”耶稣回答说：“爱我的人必遵行我的道，我父也必爱他，并且我们要到他那里与他同住。

我们属于上帝，认识上帝的人听从我们，不属于上帝的人不听从我们。这样，我们就可以分辨真理的灵和错谬的灵。

从上帝生的人不会继续犯罪，因为他里面有上帝的生命。他不能犯罪，因为他是从上帝生的。这样，就可以看出谁是上帝的儿女，谁是魔鬼的儿女。凡不按公义行事、不爱弟兄姊妹的，都不是上帝的儿女。
