Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous.

In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.

There is joy for those who deal justly with others and always do what is right.

You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.

Then Abraham took a tenth of all he had captured in battle and gave it to Melchizedek. The name Melchizedek means“ king of justice,” and king of Salem means“ king of peace.”

Don’t be misled— you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.

Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you.Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living.
