亞伯也將他羊羣中頭生的和羊的脂油獻上。耶和華看中了亞伯和他的供物，只是看不中該隱和他的供物。該隱就大大地發怒，變了臉色。耶和華對該隱說：「你為甚麼發怒呢？你為甚麼變了臉色呢？你若行得好，豈不蒙悅納？你若行得不好，罪就伏在門前。它必戀慕你，你卻要制伏它。」該隱與他兄弟亞伯說話；二人正在田間。該隱起來打他兄弟亞伯，把他殺了。耶和華對該隱說：「你兄弟亞伯在哪裏？」他說：「我不知道！我豈是看守我兄弟的嗎？」耶和華說：「你做了甚麼事呢？你兄弟的血有聲音從地裏向我哀告。地開了口，從你手裏接受你兄弟的血。現在你必從這地受咒詛。你種地，地不再給你效力；你必流離飄蕩在地上。」該隱對耶和華說：「我的刑罰太重，過於我所能當的。你如今趕逐我離開這地，以致不見你面；我必流離飄蕩在地上，凡遇見我的必殺我。」耶和華對他說：「凡殺該隱的，必遭報七倍。」耶和華就給該隱立一個記號，免得人遇見他就殺他。

他們有禍了！因為走了該隱的道路，又為利往巴蘭的錯謬裏直奔，並在可拉的背叛中滅亡了。

為非作歹的，被義人憎嫌；行事正直的，被惡人憎惡。

就是從亞伯的血起，直到被殺在壇和殿中間撒迦利亞的血為止。我實在告訴你們，這都要問在這世代的人身上。

亞當又與妻子同房，她就生了一個兒子，起名叫塞特，意思說：「神另給我立了一個兒子代替亞伯，因為該隱殺了他。」

哪一個先知不是你們祖宗逼迫呢？他們也把預先傳說那義者要來的人殺了；如今你們又把那義者賣了，殺了。

田地就是世界；好種就是天國之子；稗子就是那惡者之子；

好流人血的，恨惡完全人，索取正直人的性命。

並新約的中保耶穌，以及所灑的血；這血所說的比亞伯的血所說的更美。

約拿單向他父親掃羅替大衛說好話，說：「王不可得罪王的僕人大衛；因為他未曾得罪你，他所行的都與你大有益處。他拚命殺那非利士人，耶和華為以色列眾人大行拯救；那時你看見，甚是歡喜，現在為何無故要殺大衛，流無辜人的血，自己取罪呢？」

叫世上所流義人的血都歸到你們身上，從義人亞伯的血起，直到你們在殿和壇中間所殺的巴拉加的兒子撒迦利亞的血為止。

大衛做事無不精明，耶和華也與他同在。掃羅見大衛做事精明，就甚怕他。

亞希米勒回答王說：「王的臣僕中有誰比大衛忠心呢？他是王的女婿，又是王的參謀，並且在王家中是尊貴的。我豈是從今日才為他求問神呢？斷不是這樣！王不要將罪歸我和我父的全家；因為這事，無論大小，僕人都不知道。」王說：「亞希米勒啊，你和你父的全家都是該死的！」

他們在這些事上，見你們不與他們同奔那放蕩無度的路，就以為怪，毀謗你們。

犯罪的是屬魔鬼，因為魔鬼從起初就犯罪。神的兒子顯現出來，為要除滅魔鬼的作為。

弟兄們，你們曾效法猶太中在基督耶穌裏神的各教會；因為你們也受了本地人的苦害，像他們受了猶太人的苦害一樣。
