亞伯也把羊群中頭生的羊及其最肥美的部分獻給耶和華。耶和華悅納亞伯和他的祭物，卻不悅納該隱和他的祭物。該隱便非常惱火，面帶怒容。耶和華問該隱：「你為什麼惱火？為什麼面帶怒容？如果你做得對，難道不會蒙悅納嗎？如果你做得不對，罪就蹲在你的門口要控制你，但你必須制伏罪。」該隱對弟弟亞伯說：「我們去田間吧！」他們在田間的時候，該隱動手打亞伯，把他殺了。後來，耶和華問該隱：「你弟弟亞伯在哪裡？」他說：「我不知道！難道我是弟弟的看護人嗎？」耶和華說：「你做了什麼事？你弟弟的血從地裡向我哭訴。地張開口從你手上接受了你弟弟的血，你在地上必受咒詛。你種地，地卻不會再為你長出任何東西，你必在地上四處漂泊。」該隱對耶和華說：「這懲罰太重！我承受不了。今天你把我趕出去，使我不能再見你的面。我在地上四處漂泊，見到我的人都會殺我。」耶和華對他說：「不會的，因為凡殺你的，必遭受七倍的報應。」於是，耶和華在該隱身上留下一個記號，免得見到他的人殺他。

他們大禍臨頭了！他們步了該隱的後塵，為謀利而重蹈巴蘭的謬誤，又像可拉一樣因叛逆而滅亡。

為非作歹，義人厭惡；行為正直，惡人憎恨。

亞當又與妻子夏娃同房，夏娃生了一個兒子，取名叫塞特，因為她說：「上帝賜我另一個兒子來代替亞伯，因為該隱殺了他。」

哪一位先知沒有被你們祖先迫害？那些預言義者——彌賽亞要來的人也被你們的祖先殺害。如今你們竟出賣了那位公義者，殺害了祂！

麥田代表整個世界，那些好種子就是天國的子民。毒麥就是那些屬於魔鬼的人，

嗜殺之徒憎惡純全無過的人，但正直的人保護他們。

還有新約的中保耶穌和祂所流的血。這血比亞伯的血發出更美的信息。

約拿單就在父親面前替大衛說好話，他說：「王不要傷害大衛，他從來沒有對不起王，他所做的使王大受益處。他冒著生命危險去殺非利士人，耶和華使以色列人大獲全勝，當時你看見了，非常歡喜，現在為什麼要犯罪，枉殺無辜的大衛呢？」

因此，所有義人在地上所流的血，就是從義人亞伯的血，直到你們在聖所和祭壇之間所殺的巴拉加的兒子撒加利亞的血，都要歸到你們身上。

耶和華與大衛同在，因此他事事成功。掃羅看見大衛做事精明，就懼怕他。

亞希米勒答道：「王的臣僕中有誰像大衛那樣忠心呢？他是王的女婿，又是王的護衛長，在王室中受尊重。那也不是我第一次為他求問耶和華，求王不要因這事加罪於我或我的家人，因為我根本不知道謀反的事。」王卻說：「亞希米勒啊，你和你全家都必死無疑！」

如今你們不再和他們同流合污，他們覺得奇怪，就用惡言毀謗你們。

一直犯罪的人是屬魔鬼的，因為魔鬼從起初便犯罪，但上帝兒子的顯現是為了摧毀魔鬼的工作。

弟兄姊妹，你們的遭遇和猶太地區基督耶穌的眾教會的遭遇一樣。你們受到了自己同胞的迫害，他們也受到了猶太人的迫害。
