雖然、吾所書者、亦可謂之新誡命、主所體認、亦爾等所體認者也。蓋暗昧寖消、而真光已著矣。

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.For God, who said,“ Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

“ But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.

And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.

Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.

If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead.Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them.We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Look, the winter is past, and the rains are over and gone.The flowers are springing up, the season of singing birds has come, and the cooing of turtledoves fills the air.

This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.You are my friends if you do what I command.I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.

The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.

Jesus replied,“ My light will shine for you just a little longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake you. Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going.

Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory.
