我復將新誡致書以傳爾、在主乃真、在爾亦真、蓋晦暗方過、而真光已照也、

再者，我写给你们的，是一条新命令，在主是真的，在你们也是真的；因为黑暗渐渐过去，真光已经照耀。

然而，我写给你们的是一条新命令，在基督里是真实的，在你们也是真实的，因为黑暗渐渐消逝，真光已经在照耀。

再者我以新誡書予爾、其事在彼為真、在爾亦然、因幽暗漸逝、真光已照、

暗昧消而真光著、余以新命傳爾、主曾實踐、爾亦如之、

雖然、吾所書者、亦可謂之新誡命、主所體認、亦爾等所體認者也。蓋暗昧寖消、而真光已著矣。

Yet I am writing you a new command; its truth is seen in him and in you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.

But I am writing what amounts to a new command. Its truth was shown in how Jesus lived. It is also shown in how you live. That’s because the darkness is passing away. And the true light is already shining.

At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.

Yet it is also new. Jesus lived the truth of this commandment, and you also are living it. For the darkness is disappearing, and the true light is already shining.

Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.

是為真光、普照凡生於世之人者也、或作是為真光臨世普照萬人者也

我以新誡示爾、即爾相愛是也、爾當相愛、如我愛爾然、

此世之主此世之主即魔迷惑此等不信者之心、基督榮耀福音之光不照之、基督乃天主之像、我所宣者非己、乃主基督耶穌也、我因耶穌為爾僕、昔天主命光由暗而照、今照於我心、以光照人、使其知天主之榮、即在基督面所顯者也、

惟爾敬畏我名者、必蒙義日照臨、必蒙義日照臨或作義日必為爾出照煦育之德、在其光輝、煦育之德在其光輝原文作施醫之德在其翼間爾得逍遙而出、踴躍有如養肥之犢、

愛天主者、亦當愛兄弟、此乃我由主所受之命也、

可愛者乎、天主既如此愛我、則我儕亦當相愛、

我儕若愛兄弟、則知己已出死入生、不愛兄弟者、仍在死中、凡惡兄弟者、即為殺人者、爾知凡殺人者、其內無永生、主為我舍命、則其愛由此可知也、我儕亦當為兄弟舍命、

冬已逝、雨已止且過、地上百花已開、鳥鳴之時鳥鳴之時或作修理葡萄樹之時已至、鳩聲已聞於我地、

爾當相愛、如我愛爾、此乃我之誡、人為友舍命、愛未有大於此者、爾遵行我所命爾者、即為我友、我不復稱爾為僕、蓋僕不知主人所行、我稱爾為友、緣我以所聞於我父者示爾、

行於幽暗之民、得見大光、居於死陰下者、蒙光照臨、

耶穌曰、片時光尚偕爾、乘有光當行、恐暗忽臨、行於暗者、不知所往、

爾曹賴基督信天主使基督由死復活、且賜之榮光、使爾向天主有信與望、
