Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old one, which you have had since the beginning. This old command is the message you have heard.

不可報仇，也不可埋怨你本國的子民。你要愛鄰如己。我是耶和華。

耶穌回答：「第一是：『以色列啊，你要聽，主－我們的神是獨一的主。你要盡心、盡性、盡意、盡力愛主－你的神。』第二是：『要愛鄰如己。』再沒有比這兩條誡命更大的了。」那文士對耶穌說：「好，老師，你說得對，神是一位，除了他以外，再沒有別的了；並且盡心、盡智、盡力愛他，又愛鄰如己，要比一切燔祭和祭祀好得多。」耶穌見他回答得有智慧，就對他說：「你離神的國不遠了。」從此以後，沒有人敢再問他甚麼。

耶穌對他說：「你要盡心、盡性、盡意愛主－你的神。這是最大的，且是第一條誡命。第二條也如此，就是要愛鄰如己。這兩條誡命是一切律法和先知書的總綱。」

弟兄們，你們蒙召是要得自由；只是不可把這自由當作放縱情慾的機會，總要用愛心互相服侍。因為全部律法都包括在「愛鄰如己」這一句話之內了。

你要盡心、盡性、盡力愛耶和華－你的神。

經上記着：「要愛鄰如己」，你們若切實守這至尊的律法，你們就做得很好。但你們若按外貌待人就是犯罪，是被律法定為犯法的。因為凡遵守全部律法的，只違背了一條就是違犯了所有的律法。原來那說「不可姦淫」的，也說「不可殺人」。你就是不姦淫，卻殺人，也是成為違犯律法的。既然你們要按使人自由的律法受審判，就要照這律法說話行事。

他們就把他帶到亞略巴古，說：「你所講的這新學說，我們也可以知道嗎？
