And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.

We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands.

We know that we have come to know God if we obey his commands.

And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments.

This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commands.

By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.

“ If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

“ Why do you call me‘ Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?

By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

You are my friends if you do what I command you.

And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death.

Whoever says“ I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him:whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him;
