因為假基督和假先知將要起來，顯大神蹟、大奇事，如果可能，要把選民也迷惑了。

親愛的，一切的靈不可都信，總要察驗那些靈是否出於神，因為有許多假先知已經來到世上。

你該知道，末世必有艱難的日子來到。那時人會專愛自己，貪愛錢財，自誇，狂傲，毀謗，違背父母，忘恩負義，心不聖潔，沒有親情，抗拒和解，好說讒言，不能節制，性情兇暴，不愛良善，賣主賣友，任意妄為，自高自大，愛好宴樂，不愛神，有敬虔的外貌，卻背棄了敬虔的實質，這等人你要避開。他們當中有人潛入別人家裏，操縱無知的婦女；這些婦女被罪惡壓制，被各樣的私慾引誘，

聖靈明說，在末後的時期必有人離棄信仰，去聽信那誘惑人的邪靈和鬼魔的教訓。這是出於撒謊者的假冒；這些人的良心如同被熱鐵烙了一般。他們禁止嫁娶，又禁戒食物－就是神所造、讓那信而明白真理的人存感謝的心領受的。

因為時候將到，那時人會厭煩健全的教導，耳朵發癢，就隨心所欲地增添好些教師，並且掩耳不聽真理，偏向無稽的傳說。

第一要緊的，你們要知道，在末世必有好譏誚的人隨從自己的私慾出來譏誚，

將有好些人冒我的名來，說『我是基督』，並且要迷惑許多人。

我知道，在我離開以後必有兇暴的豺狼進入你們中間，不顧惜羊羣。就是你們中間也必有人起來，說悖謬的話，要引誘門徒跟從他們。

且有好些假先知起來，迷惑許多人。
