凡是不承認耶穌基督是成了肉身來的，那靈就不是出於神，而是敵基督者的靈；你們聽過他要來，現在他已經在世上了。

因為必有假基督和假先知出現，顯大神蹟和奇事；如果可以的話，他們連選民也要迷惑。

親愛的，不要每個靈都信，總要試驗那些靈是否出於神，因為有許多假先知已經來到世上了。

你應當知道，末後的日子必有艱難的時期來到。那時，人會專愛自己、貪愛錢財、自誇、高傲、褻瀆、悖逆父母、忘恩負義、不聖潔、沒有親情、不肯和解、惡言中傷、不能自律、橫蠻兇暴、不愛良善、賣主賣友、容易衝動、傲慢自大、愛享樂過於愛神，有敬虔的形式，卻否定敬虔的能力；這些人你應當避開。他們中間有人潛入別人的家裡，操縱無知的婦女。這些婦女被罪壓住，又被各種私慾拖累，

聖靈明明地說，日後必有人離棄信仰，跟從虛謊的邪靈和鬼魔的教訓。這教訓是出於說謊的人的虛偽，他們的良心好像被燒紅的鐵烙了一般。他們禁止嫁娶，禁戒食物。食物本是神所造的，是給信主和認識真理的人存感謝的心領受的。

因為時候快要到了，人必容不下純正的道理，反而耳朵發癢，隨著自己的私慾，增添許多教師，而且轉離不聽真理，反倒趨向無稽之談。

最重要的，你們應當知道：在末後的日子，必定有好譏笑的人出來，隨著自己的私慾譏笑說：

有許多人要來，假冒我的名說‘我就是基督’，並且要迷惑許多的人。

我知道在我離開之後，必有兇暴的豺狼進入你們中間，不顧惜羊群。你們自己中間也必有人起來，講些歪曲悖謬的話，引誘門徒跟從他們。

也有許多假先知出現，要迷惑許多人。
